The Description of Holy Spirit ~ 'The Revelations of Saint Bridget of Sweden'; ‘The words of an angel to the bride about whether the spirit of her thoughts is good or bad…’; Book I; Chapter 54

[Saint Bridget of Sweden/ Heliga Birgitta; XIV Century AD: aged 69-70; Uppland, Sweden/Rome, Papal States; Widow, Mystic; Spiritual Writer; Founder; Patroness of Europe]
Chapter 54 ~ The words of an angel to the bride about whether the spirit of her thoughts is good or bad, and about how there are two spirits, one uncreated and one created, and about their characteristics.
A holy angel spoke to the bride and said: “There are two spirits, one uncreated and one created.
The uncreated Spirit has three characteristics:
First, he is hot; second, sweet; and third, pure.
First, he gives off warmth,
and his warmth does not come from created things but from himself, since he, together with the Father and the Son, is Creator of all things and Almighty. He gives off warmth when the whole soul burns for the love of God.

French Church Becomes Brewery and Restaurant

The church Saint-Nicaise de Rouen in Rouen, France, will become a brasserie-restaurant with an additional museum space.
The site dates back to the 7th century, when a chapel was built for the relics of Saint Nicaise.
The current building was reconstructed in reinforced concrete after a fire in 1934 and reopened for worship in 1940.
Due to structural deterioration, water infiltration, and lack of maintenance, the church was closed in 2006 and officially deconsecrated in 2017.
The new project includes a restaurant, on-site beer production, and preservation of some architectural elements. The church’s large organ, completed in 1957 and one of the most important in Rouen, has been removed and will be relocated to another church in Paris for restoration.
Local authorities cited high restoration costs as the main reason for the conversion.

Equatorial Guinea’s First Lady kisses Pope’s cross - Shalom World News
Pope Leo XIV was received with a full ceremony at the presidential palace in Malabo, marking the final leg of his Africa tour. In a rare break from protocol, First Lady Constancia Mangue de Obiang kissed the Pope’s pectoral cross, a gesture of personal devotion. The welcome also saw a touching moment when a young boy chosen to greet the Pope became overwhelmed and began to cry. The Pope gently called him closer and offered words of encouragement.

The Secret of Love of God and a Neighbor ~ ‘How virtues are accomplished by means of our neighbour…’ ~ 'The Dialogue' of Saint Catherine of Siena; Translated from Italian by ALGAR THOROLD, 1907; ‘DIVINE PROVIDENCE’; pp. 43-47

[Saint Catherine of Siena /Caterina di Benincasa/; XIV-XV Century AD; Siena, Republic of Siena/Rome, Papal States; aged 33; Spiritual Writer; Mystic; Virgin; Doctor of the Church]
‘How virtues are accomplished by means of our neighbour and how it is that virtues differ to such an extent in creatures.’
" I have told thee how all sins are accomplished by means of thy neighbour,
through the principles which I exposed to thee, that is, because men are deprived of the affection of love, which gives light to every virtue. In the same way self-love, which destroys charity and affection towards the neighbour, is the principle and foundation of every evil. All scandals, hatred, cruelty, and every sort of trouble proceed from this perverse root of self-love, which has poisoned the entire world, and weakened the mystical body of the Holy Church, and the universal body of the believers in the Christian religion ; and, therefore, I said to thee, that it was in the neighbour, that is to say in the …More

" Wherefore, I show you that in My house are many mansions, and that I wish for no other thing than love, for in the love of Me is fulfilled and completed the love of the neighbour, and the law observed. For he, only, can be of use in his state of life, who is bound to Me with this love."

In Principio

" And it cannot be otherwise, because love of Me and of her neighbour are one and the same thing, and, so far as the soul loves Me, she loves her neighbour, because love towards him issues from Me. This is the means which I have given you, that you may exercise and prove your virtue therewith ; because, inasmuch as you can do Me no profit, you should do it to your neighbour. This proves that you possess Me by grace in your soul, producing much fruit for your neighbour and making prayers to Me, seeking with sweet and amorous desire My honour and the salvation of souls. The soul, enamoured of My truth, never ceases to serve the whole world in general, and more or less in a particular case according to the disposition of the recipient and the ardent desire of the donor, as I have shown above, when I declared to thee that the endurance of suffering alone, without desire, was not sufficient to punish a fault."

Cardinals Reject Hope in Leo XIV on Roman Rite

Several anonymous cardinals and curial officials told the Substack.com account The Pillar on April 17 that they do not expect any resolution to the question of the Mass in the Roman rite in the near future.
Some Catholics had hoped the next extraordinary consistory of cardinals on June 26–27 would address the liturgical issue. Instead, Leo XIV chose to focus on Francis' document Evangelii Gaudium.
One Vatican official said that Leo XIV was not very familiar with traditional communities or even the traditional liturgy, and that his primary concern was not liturgy but whether members of those communities accept the Second Vatican Council.
As early as June 2025, the best friend of Leo XIV, Alejandro Moral, Prior General of the Augustinians, had already ruled out any return of the older form of the Mass under his pontificate.

Paul VI killed the Old Mass; JP II gave it a tiny life; Benedict opened it up greatly, saying it had never really been officially done away with; Francis tried to kill it; Leo seems happy with Francis's decision. Zigzag, zigzag, what is the layman to think? "Officer, the light was green when I went through it." "Well, it's red now and you are in trouble." Why should the laity respect the governance of the Church?

Acts of the Apostles 8,1b-8.
There broke out a severe persecution of the Church in Jerusalem, and all were scattered throughout the countryside of Judea and Samaria, except the Apostles.
Devout men buried Stephen and made a loud lament over him.
Saul, meanwhile, was trying to destroy the church; entering house after house and dragging out men and women, he handed them over for imprisonment.
Now those who had been scattered went about preaching the word.
Thus Philip went down to (the) city of Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah to them.
With one accord, the crowds paid attention to what was said by Philip when they heard it and saw the signs he was doing.
For unclean spirits, crying out in a loud voice, came out of many possessed people, and many paralyzed and crippled people were cured.
There was great joy in that city.
Psalms 66(65),1-3a.4-5.6-7a.
Shout joyfully to God, all the earth,
sing praise to the glory of his name;
proclaim his glorious praise.

Matthew 7:12
All things therefore whatsoever you will that men do to you, do you also to them. For this is the Law and the Prophets.
1 Corinthians 13:3-10
And if I should distribute all my goods to be meat for the poor, and if I should deliver my body so that I burn, and have not charity, it doth profit me nothing.
Charity is patient, is benign: Charity envieth not, dealeth not perversely: is not puffed up,
is not ambitious, seeketh not her own, is not provoked to anger, thinketh not evil,
rejoiceth not upon iniquity, but rejoiceth with the truth:
suffereth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, beareth all things.
Charity never falleth away: whether prophecies shall be made void, or tongues shall cease, or knowledge shall be destroyed.
For in part we know, & in part we prophesy.
But when that shall come that is perfect, that shall be made void that is in part.

First, a brief comparison. In history class, we learned about a Mongol ruler from the turn of the 12th to the 13th century: the ruthless conqueror of half the world, Genghis Khan. His wars claimed the lives of 40 million people at the time—that is 11.11% of the entire known world population. Today I asked “Google Intelligence” the following question: How did Genghis Khan treat envoys? The answer surprised me greatly:
Genghis Khan treated envoys with the utmost respect, and their protection was a fundamental principle of Mongol law and strategy. The most important aspects of this topic are listed below:
Absolute inviolability: The killing of an envoy (ambassador) was considered one of the gravest acts of hostility, which typically led to merciless revenge and the complete destruction of the state that had committed such an act;
The Jam System (Jaam): Genghis Khan established an efficient courier system (Jam) that enabled messengers to travel …

Retired CIA analyst Larry Johnson revealed on the popular YouTube program Judging Freedom that during an emergency meeting on Saturday, Trump attempted to access the nuclear codes. He invoked his privilege as the head of the military, so to speak. It was apparently quite a blow-up. There's some very bizarre things going on in DC." It comes amid growing concern …More

‘Easily the Worst President in U.S. History’
nytimes.com/…04/21/opinion/trump-legacy-history-p…
The damage President Trump has inflicted on the United States and the world is so enormous and wide-ranging that it is hard to grasp.
It runs the gamut from public and private institutions to core democratic customs and traditions, from the legal system to universities, from innocent targets of fraud to those duped into believing vaccines do more harm than good.
One way to bring home the depth of Trump’s callousness is to look at a specific case. In May 2025, Anjee Davis, the chief executive of Fight Colorectal Cancer, a patient advocacy group, told CBS News:
We have a member who is being treated for Stage IV colorectal cancer. She had just qualified to enter a clinical trial that was going to be her last-chance effort to slow the spread of her cancer.
Her trial was about to start when N.I.H. funding was pulled overnight, and the trial was canceled.
