Two more German dioceses have rejected a German bishops’ conference document on “the diversity of sexual identities” in Catholic schools, as new details emerge showing the text was published without a final vote of the bishops. The Archdiocese of Cologne and the Diocese of Regensburg confirmed on Nov. 14 that they fully support Passau Bishop Stefan Oster’s critique of the document, “Created, Redeemed, and Loved.” Oster argues that the October release departs from the Church’s traditional understanding of the human person. Sichtbarkeit und Anerkennung der Vielfalt sexueller Identitäten in der Schule“ distanziert. Besonders deutlich äußerte sich Bischof Rudolf Voderholzer (Regensburg) am Rande der Herbstvollversammlung des Landeskomitees der Katholiken in Bayern.
