Roman Catholic Cardinal - Chaldean Catholic Patriarch Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako Louis Raphaël I Cardinal Sako [Catholic-Hierarchy] The Eliya line was a traditionalist patriarchate of the Church of the East, originating from the 1552 schism, residing primarily at the Rabban Hormizd Monastery near Alqosh, Iraq, and maintaining independence from Rome while resisting Catholic overtures for centuries. This branch preserved its unique East Syriac traditions and Christology, eventually seeing most followers unite with Rome by 1830 to form the Chaldean Catholic Church, while the rival Shimun line continued as the Assyrian Church of the East The East Syriac Christian Church (Church of the East) traces its founding to the Apostles, primarily St. Thomas the Apostle, along with St. Addai (Thaddeus) and St. Mari, who brought Christianity to Mesopotamia and Persia, establishing the See of Seleucia-Ctesiphon, with traditions also linking Bartholomew. Cardinal Sako in Iraq receives threats after Christmas homily. Photo: al-monitor In Iraq, Chaldean Catholic Patriarch Cardinal Louis Raphael Sako received threats from Islamist groups after a Christmas homily in Baghdad. This was reported by Chaldean Press. The reason for the attacks on the cardinal was his homily, where he used the word "normalization", speaking about the need for reconciliation and spiritual unity in Iraqi society. However, some Islamic leaders interpreted this expression as a call for political normalization of relations with Israel, which caused a sharp reaction and legal appeals demanding Sako's arrest. After this, Sako began receiving numerous threats from Iraq and Iran. Representatives of the Chaldean Archdiocese issued a statement clarifying that the speech was exclusively about internal peace and cultural development of the country, not about international relations. The document emphasizes that the homily had no political undertones, and the word "normalization …

The Gift of the Magi "The Gift of the Magi" is a short story by American writer O. Henry, first published in 1905. The story tells of a young husband and wife and how they deal with the challenge of buying secret Christmas gifts for each other with very little money. As a sentimental story with a moral lesson about gift-giving, it has been popular for adaptation, especially for presentation at Christmas time. The plot and its twist ending are well known; the ending is generally considered an example of cosmic irony. The story was allegedly written at Pete's Tavern on Irving Place in New York City. The story was initially published in The New York Sunday World under the title "Gifts of the Magi" on December 10, 1905. It was first published in book form in the O. Henry collection The Four Million in April 1906. youtube.com/watch?v=eEYKlV0vkIs

Pope's Response to Dubia Cardinals: Francis provided lengthy answers in Spanish, but the cardinals felt they were ambiguous, leading them to rephrase some questions to require "yes/no" answers. Remember this: Rump rangers do not kneel, they bend over. Sticky questions raised at the Cardinal Consistory can simply be answered as such: " Those are excellent questions, let me think about it, what we can do" Clap, Clap. Clap ( three years later.........yup, I'm still thinking about it )
The Epiphany of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Magi - Blessed Anna Katharina Emmerick cybrotius ACE_1_0241, Life of Jesus Christ by Anne … 11. Journey of the Three Kings To Bethlehem Some days after their departure from home, I saw the caravan of Theokeno come up with those of Mensor and Seir at a ruined city. Rows of tall pillars were still standing here and in many places large beautiful statues. A band of wild robbers had taken up their quarters among the ruins. They were clothed in the skins of beasts and armed with spears; they were of a brownish color, short and stout, but very agile. The three caravans left this city together at daybreak and, after journeying half a day, rested in a very fertile district where there was a spring around which were many roomy sheds. This was an ordinary halting place for caravans. Each of the Kings had in his train, as companions, four nobles of his own race; but he himself was like a patriarch over all. He took care of all, commanded all, dispensed …More

News Kazakhstan has enacted a controversial law banning the dissemination of information deemed to promote “non-traditional sexual orientation”, drawing sharp criticism from international rights groups and comparisons to Russia’s notorious “gay propaganda” legislation. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the bill on 30 December, with the amendments taking effect on 1 January. The law covers media, education, advertising, cultural activities and online platforms, and applies broadly to any content accessible to minors.
