“criteria for distinguishing authentic spiritual phenomena, which can occur in an atmosphere of prayer and a sincere search for God, from manifestations that may be deceptive.”
By Andrea Widburg It’s old news by now that the BBC defamed Donald Trump by misleadingly editing his January 6, 2021, speech to convey the impression that Trump was demanding that his supporters act violently at the Capitol. To give that impression, the BBC had to cut out almost one hour of his speech and seamlessly graft together two entirely unrelated statements. When Trump threatened to sue, two of the BBC’s executives reluctantly resigned. Eventually, the BBC, after hemming and hawing a bit, offered a sort of apology, conceding that, well, yes, that’s exactly what it had done, and promising never again to broadcast the offending footage…but insisting that this bit of jiggery-pokery was just a mistake, with no malevolence involved: On Monday, BBC chair Samir Shah accepted an “error of judgement” had been made on the documentary and that the edited speech gave the impression of a “direct call for action” – and said the BBC would like to apologise for it. That’s one step better …
Norwegian bishop Erik Varden spoke to 'Communio' magazine on November 19 about personal experiences. Key quotes from this wonderful interview – including wishful thinking. - I am not convinced by the sociological data on religion, which suggests that religious indifference is on the rise. - I have the utmost respect for the Pew Research Centre, but I must say that, purely empirically, the statement does not correspond with my own observations. - The trend is clear and growing steadily: young people long for substance. I see them faithfully attending well-prepared and carefully designed Eucharists. - What I am witnessing is a new search for meaning, for criteria, for community, for truth. - In Scandinavia, secularisation has now come to an end. Quite simply because there is actually nothing left to secularise. - The fact that human beings somehow carry a desire for the limitless within themselves is also evident in a very secular discourse, most recently in transhumanism. - When confronted …More

The low-budget film Sacré Coeur has become a box office success in France, drawing over 400,000 viewers since October 1. Focused on the 17th-century apparitions to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, it blends reenactments, testimonies, and expert input. MediaTransports — the advertising agency for SNCF and RATP — rejected a planned metro and train-station poster campaign, calling the project “religious and proselytizing.” An October 22 screening at the Château de La Buzine, a municipal cinema, was also canceled for allegedly violating France’s secularism rules. Still, lines grow weekly. Jesuits have objected that the film ignores their historical role in spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart.

1M 4:36-37, 52-59 "For eight days they celebrated the dedication of the altar and joyfully offered burnt offerings and sacrifices of deliverance and praise." Joy and bliss, is the feast of the Heart to hearts, of God with us, in our being. Luke 19:45-48 The Presentation of Mary in the Temple inspires us to present ourselves to God, in order to receive from Him all that we need in the present moment. A suggestion to achieve this: let us follow this recommendation from Pope Saint John XXIII: "Let us simplify complicated things and not complicate simple things." Jesus repeats what is written: "My house shall be a house of prayer." Mary is a person in prayer. Prayer is to be in the presence of God. Lord, thank you for being with us and in all people. May each person allow Jesus to open their heart so that His Love may pass through them and touch the hearts of others along the way. Biblical texts: NAB-RE Normand Thomas.

MADRID (LifeSiteNews) — The president of the Spanish Bishops’ Conference has called out the “tragedy of 73 million abortions” carried out every year worldwide. In his address at the 128th Plenary Assembly of the Spanish bishops in Madrid, Luis Javier Argüello García, Archbishop of Valladolid, spoke about how abortion is being swept under the rug by secular society, and pro-lifers are being marginalized. “Anyone who publicly declares that abortion is objectively immoral because it ends the life of a human being other than the parents risks harsh personal, social, and political condemnation: ‘Questioning this achievement? Doubting this right? That is the height of fascist and authoritarian thinking and deserves to be immediately labeled as right-wing extremism,’” Argüello said. “Providing information to pregnant women is considered abuse, and praying outside an abortion clinic is considered a threat.” “Why this refusal to think rationally and let science – DNA, genomics, ultrasound …

Göring's elder siblings were Karl, Olga, and Paula; his younger brother was Albert. At the time that Göring was born, his father was serving as consul general in Haiti,[6] and his mother had returned home briefly to give birth. Catholic priest - son of the Archbishop of Canterbury. Monsignor Hugh Benson’s birthday (18 November 1871) inspires a reflection on his life, shaped this year by the publication of the long-awaited Benson Diary (Volumes I–II, 2025), the vast journals of his brother Arthur Christopher (AC) Benson. Edited by Eamon Duffy and Ronald Hyam, these volumes present around one-twelfth of AC’s enormous 180-volume diary (nearly five million words), widely praised as a major contribution to English diaristic literature. AC Benson — Eton housemaster, Master of Magdalen College, prolific writer, and author of the lyrics to “Land of Hope and Glory” — recorded an extraordinary picture of late-Victorian and Edwardian intellectual life. The new edition has been lauded by reviewers, though with one dissent from Sir Vernon Bogdanor, who considers the diaries excessive in their scholarly treatment and little more than refined gossip. The Benson family itself was remarkable. Hugh was the youngest child …More
