A warm thanks to all those - and there are many - who have contributed to this year's summer rest at Castel Gandolfo. These were the words of Benedict XVI this morning to the mayor, local authorities, heads of the security forces and Vatican officials at Castel Gandolfo. Together, the Pope said, they have each contributed in these summer months. Benedict XVI underlined that today was the feast of St. Vincent de Paul, a virtuous example and apostle of charity. He must be a stimulus for a renewed commitment to solidarity, the Pope said, so that each person can cooperate in building the common good. The Pope will return to the Vatican on Thursday.
