Saint Conrad of Constance | Noble Bishop of Charity & Peace | Catechism for Kids St Joseph's Corner Saint Conrad of Constance (c. 900–975) was a nobleman who chose service over power, charity over comfort, and peace over conflict. Born into the powerful Welf family of Germany, he gave up a life of privilege to become a priest and later the Bishop of Constance, where he served with deep humility. Conrad was known for: his gentleness and compassion his tireless charity to the sick and poor his skill in calming political tensions his peaceful spirit in leadership his devotion to pilgrimages — travelling three times to the Holy Land Although he came from nobility, he lived simply, giving much of his wealth away. He visited the sick, cared for the needy, and made decisions that protected both the Church and ordinary people. His leadership helped bring stability during a turbulent time in medieval Germany. During Mass one day a spider dropped into the chalice of Precious Blood; though Conrad believed all spiders were poisonous, his love of communion overcame his fear, and he drank the Blood, spider and all. He did, of course, survive.

Pope Leo XIV reinstated the pastoral district of central Rome, which Pope Francis had dissolved in October 2024. The decree, published on Wednesday, is titled Immota Manet ('It remains unchanged'). The restored district encompasses Rome’s historic city centre, characterised by its dense concentration of churches, and is home to most of the city's clergy. Francis distributed this territory among the city's four outer districts, claiming that it should not become a 'museum'. Leo XIV argued that the city centre forms a coherent whole. Francis's change was met with strong resistance from the clergy and was reluctantly implemented.

In a remarkable video, a young woman named “Laura” who converted from Buddhism to Catholicism in 2018 pleads with Pope Leo XIV to be faithful to his role as Christ’s representative on Earth and urged him to stop being “confusing and abstract.” “When I heard that the world was receiving a new Pope, I was very curious, was very hopeful to see what was to come,” she began.

Today, Pope Leo XIV appointed Cardinal Grzegorz Ryś of Łódź as the new Archbishop of Kraków in Poland. Born in Krakow in 1964, he was ordained as a priest in 1988. In 2011, Benedict XVI appointed him as an auxiliary bishop of Krakow. Pope Francis named him archbishop of Łódź in 2017 and cardinal in September 2023. Francis' man in Poland Edward Pentin described Cardinal Ryś on CollegeOfCardinalsReport.com as an extremely liberal bishop and as Poland’s "Pope Francis man". "His elevation to the cardinalate was seen as a reward and encouragement for his attempts to reform Poland's conservative Church." Pentin added that, since Ryś became a member of the Congregation for Bishops in October 2023, new bishops in Poland have been more progressive than their predecessors. Like Cardinal Ryś, they all strongly promote the Church’s new synodal way. In October 2023, Cardinal Ryś said that opposition to Pope Francis is "completely unjust" and "always based on one or two phrases taken out of …More

Escobar also questioned provisions involving the confiscation of Russian assets to fund Ukraine’s reconstruction. He described such measures as unacceptable to the Kremlin and a likely deal-breaker, adding that only a fifth of the proposed plan acknowledges Russia’s demands, while failing to reflect Moscow’s current battlefield leverage. It would be unacceptable to anyone. Not just the Kremlin. This is just another mess from Trump and his administration. Another deception pretending they want peace. Making a peace plan that is worthless, but making sure people see it as a peace plan.
I thank GOD for two things in this mess Europe and the US has made in Ukraine and Russia. 1. I see the truth of exactly what the Russians say and not the propaganda we get. 2. I hear from people who are actually in Russia keeping communications going and trying to see if there is anything they can do to help and stop the propaganda. Many people are in and out of Russia. They talk directly to Sergey Lavrov and Maria Zakharova and others in Russia. Larry Johnson I believe may still be in Russia talking to them. As we can see in his article Pepe Escobar is back again. And Rick Sanchez who has a studio in Russia. They have first hand information from Russia. Not speaking for them. Not twisting what anyone says. Not editing anything. But real conversations as they happen.

At today's press conference, Tucho was asked if his document on monogamy also applies to two homosexuals in a stable relationship. He replied that the Church considers marriage to be an exclusive union between a man and a woman. But: "That does not mean that there are no values in other contexts and that what we say here cannot also apply to other forms of unions. When we talk about patience, respect, etc., that also applies to relationships between friends and other forms of relationship."
“Eminenza, vorrei sapere: questo documento, per persone dello stesso sesso che vivono unioni di monogamia… Sono esclusi da Una carne?” Tucho: “Quello non vuol dire che in altri contesti non ci siano dei valori, no? E che quello che diciamo qua non possa servire anche ad altre forme di unioni. Quando si parla della pazienza, del rispetto, eccetera eccetera, quello vale anche per un rapporto tra amici, vale per altre forme di rapporto.”

Please put on CC because he tells us a lot about the Church. The oldest Catholic Church in Russia. Built in 1773. I am adding a comment from below video. The CATHOLIC Church of St Catherine in St Petersburg, Russia The Catholic Church of St Catherine (Russian: Католическая церковь Святой Екатерины) in St. Petersburg is the oldest Catholic church in Russia, and the only church with the title of basilica (status granted on 23 July 2013). It is located on the Nevsky Prospekt in St Petersburg, Russia, and is a part of the Archdiocese of Moscow headed by Msgr. Paolo Pezzi. The CATHOLIC Church of St Catherine in St Petersburg, Russia Comment from under the video. Visited this church in the early 2000’s. Lovely feeling. The soviets used it as a warehouse. The unfinished chapel is a poignant vision of what those Godless people did to the church. Apparently before the revolution there were over 20 Catholic parishes in St. Petersburg area. 20 years ago?
