The most decadant of the EBC remains Downside Abbey followed closely by Ampleforth, then Buckfast. But I see what you mean though. Liturgically speaking Douai Abbey and Buckfast are the most conservative Lauds, Vespers in Latin and Compline chanted in Latin by heart in the ambient light of two altar candels...

@ACLumsden, yes they are part of the rather theological 'modern', and 1970's liturgical styled -
American-Cassinese Congregation,very similar to the English Benedictine Congregation, that you would be more familiar with..BUT i would seem to notice amongst that Congregation, St. Bernards are becoming are perhaps the more(most?) sound amongst them.., in an American Benedictine teaching Abbey sorta way.........

Fabulous! But, oh dear, the chant methodology is quite unfortunate indeed. The phrasing, and modal fluidity of the Chant is rather odd, somewhat like scalic music. But then again, it sounds like they do most of their liturgy in English. Which congregation is this? Annunciation?
