@Rhemes - I have been following this thread of argument. Dear brother, do realise that even as we struggle for the purity of our faith and liturgy today, there are many traditionalists who a really schismatics. They purport to be submissive to Rome, yet have very little understanding of Her ecclesiology and its root, viz the Pauline writings; the ultimate source Christ Himself. Therefore they get confused and distracted from the grace of Her foundation and authority and their eyes are fixated on human frailty, hence their alarmist stance on the Heirarchy and their heretical philiosophies about the Second Oecumenical Council of the Vatican. Heresy may ocurr in both camps, on the far left and on the far right!!

Therefore, when discussing such matters [as you and trady have been doing], do bear this in mind. If they refuse, due to their aforesaid distractions, to understand you, "shake the dust from your sandals and move on". Finally, pray for them.

How many lay people became saints? How many lay people died martyrs for the faith, even children. They didn't need a collar or a red hat, come on rhemes, be realistic.

Everyone has a different station in life, of course. Some are better at things than others, certainly. But we are all called to know and defend our faith when need be. Why should anyone take your word for it? Because as Fulton Sheen said, it is up to YOU,....and me...and every Catholic to defend the Church because it won't get done otherwise. If I come across as brow-beating, what can I say,...maybe it's the Italian in me. I'm not perfect, that's for sure!

would you like the names of some "Catholic" priests that are married? And I'm not talking BEFORE they became a priest(s)?
would you like the names of "Catholic" priests who have families? and we're not talking about "parish" families. I say these things because they are FACTS, not to belittle the sanctity of the priesthood, but only for those who may be on the side of naitivity.

Read my post again rhemes...First of all ALL CATHOLICS are to know their faith! How do they know it? As Catholic parents, it is their responsibilty to teach their children from the very beginning by being examples of the faith, also our Church, as the priests are to remain and continue being Apostles of the faith who Shepherd God's people. Granted, many of us didn't have such good Catholic upbringings..why? because many parents did not know their faith. And this is where the Church comes in. As I stated before, how can the people know and learn to live out the Catholic faith and all it teaches if we are not taught it and do not have priests and nuns (not all) that are not examples and do not live out the faith? who then are we to turn to? Who then do we learn from? When one priest says this is OK, and another says something different.

Look...I love my Church! the Catholic Church that Christ Himself gave to us! I will and have and will continue to defend it to my last breath. I take no pleasure...hear me!...I take NO pleasure in what may seem to some as though I'm attacking our Church. Well, in a way I am? Why? Why would you attack the Church you love? Because I want to see its purity put back into it; with Holy priests and religious, to see the children get a true Catholic education in what our Church has always taught, to help those who (as I was some years ago) very ignorant of the faith. And ignorance and complacency can do MUCH harm to the Church, as to where defending the Holy Father and Church teaching gets cast off to the side...This is very Dangerous! and we have seen, now more than ever, the destruction it has caused! And to those who know this and do nothing and remain silent while others Take a Stand like a True Soldier Of Christ (which we are called to be through our Confirmation) should not sit back and Complain or Pretend of the state in which our Church is in.
Lastly, our home has welcomed many priests, even to this very day, and I pray, respect and love our priests,..those that are truly called to the vocation of the priesthood, which God knows who they are. Just remember, homosexuality is not and never will be allowed in our seminaries and convents and those who have corrupted it by this sinful lifestyle will have to answer for it, as the abuse of children...and that is why Rome has said, that any man who entering the seminary for reason of finances, or a lifestyle that is contrary to the teachings of Holy Mother Church NEED TO RECONSIDER THEIR VOCATION.

Pray to Our Lady, Mother of the Clergy to send us Many HOLY priests and religious!
Pray for those priest who are being persecuted everyday because they are trying to live out the gospel and bring us closer to Christ. And are willing to become martyrs for the faith!

But how many Catholics today even know what an abuse is within the Mass? They go along with it all because they don't realize nor have they been educated in the rubics and many don't care as they will happily go along with just about anything their pastors allow. Catholics are not aware of the disobedience that has been taking place in the parishes with pastors and many bishops. And it is up to us to educate them, to save our Church from further destruction, as said by Bishop Fulton J. Sheen.I have a sibling who was away from the Church for Many years; when she returned and attended her first mass in a very long time, she told me she walked out afterwards and had to ask herself, "What was that?" Not only because she was away for so long but because she couldn't believe what was taking place in the church today from when she remembered it. She didn't even want to go back. She explained all that took place and was really shocked and dissapointed to say the least.
But in todays' society Catholics that never left the church have become acclamated to this modernistic "mass" called the novus ordo. And many too that I have known who were daily mass goers have left the Church because they don't see it as a mass of reverence and respect for the Eucharist, giving God Glory and Honor but has turned the attention onto the people. It is no longer a SACRIFICE, but a community gathering.

The Novus Ordo, even when said with piety and respect for the liturgical rules,...is impregnated with the spirit of Protestantism.

Maybe in the USA the protestants wear the collar, but accross the pond they don't. They just wear a suit (of ALL different colours mind you! lol).....

Then, there is the question of discrespect: If we believe that the only valid Mass (ie transubstantiation) is that celebrated within the ancient Patriarchal Sees of Rome, Constantinople, Alexandria, Syria, etc. Then all other 'modern' Christian sects are invalid, including the Protestants. Therefore, one can not make a mockery of that which is in the first place unreal and spiritually impotent.

Therefore, I dont see this as being "disrepectful" to all Christians; all Christians do not believe in transubstantiation - only the ancient Sees..... Disrespect might ocurr however, if say, Pepsi made a spoof of the Incarnation or some other item of dogma which all Christians believe in common.

Greetings to all...... I recognise the modus operandihere and it is that of the Methodist or Presbyterian Denomination. The communion service in these denomination is null-and-void because they are protestant. Therefore, wherether they serve Pepsi or not is inconsequential to our faith as Roman Catholics.....

@the bedards.... After decades of witnessing abuse after abuse one has to say ENOUGH! When Frances Cardinal Arinze says that we have to QUESTION today the validity of some novus ordo masses, maybe you should speak with him, to get a better understanding. Why don't you boycott Pepsi, since it's their commercial..

In todays' day of novus ordo masses which contain (as I have already written)teddy bear masses, ballerina masses, clown masses, motorcycle masses, magic masses, animal masses, bingo masses, halloween masses, puppet masses, acrobat masses and your masonic funerals in the novus ordo parishes, and still feel you can justify your comment, So be it, meanwhile stop and smell the incense!

P.S. In the Sisters of St. Joseph Recipe book that has been for sale in our diocese, the sisters put their recipe for making altar bread for some of the churches. Some of those ingredients consisted of MARGARINE and BAKING POWDER! VALID? Not according to Church formula. nd which also constitutes for an INVALID MASS!
