Doubts About the Beatification
Vatican
Guido Horst is a well known German Catholic journalist. On March 2nd he mentioned in the Catholic daily “Die Tagespost” doubts concerning the beatification of Pope John Paul II. Both, Horst and “Die Tagespost”,… [More]

Revthree,
I am also a fan of C.S. Lewis and thank you for posting an interesting letter from the "devil".
Radical Traditionalism (which means different things to different people) is, in my view, not at play with Assisi but common sense and showing respect for the traditions of Catholicism are. At what price is inte- religious dialogue and what have been the results other than the Jews feeling that they have a right to interfere with our liturgy and influence who we do or do not canonize (Pius … [More]

Revthree,
Thank you again for your thoughtful response.

Yes, it is to be expected. However, we are not the world's doormats nor are we to simply roll over and allow attacks against our members, or our Church, or, most importantly, our Lord to occur. As you know, Catholics and Christians are being maimed and killed around the world on an almost daily basis. If these kinds of murderous actions were being perpetrated … [More]

Holy Cannoli: Thankyou again for your thorough response: I thought of a great letter, I read awhile back, concerning the "Reason" the Lord, and Risen Christ, has turned the Church in the direction of Inter-religious dialog! I think you might find it fitting here!

Being persecuted as Catholics, comes with the territory, my friend.[18]If the world hates you, know ye, that it hath hated me before you.[19]If you had been of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.[20]Remember my word that I said to you: The servant is not greater than his master. Revthree,
Thank you, my new friend for your excellent reply in which I am in total agreement. I would like to expand upon only one of your comments.
I think the blessed Father, was speaking "Wisely", in my humble opinion, especially with SO many cases of Antisemitism in our world today!
Would that Rabbi Korn, Rabbi Neusner or any other of the Jewish Rabbis that the Catholic Church engages in "dialogue" (whatever that means) since VC-II would recognize and condemn publicly the "many cases of Antisemitism… [More]

Holy Cannoli my good friend! Thankyou for your very thorough reply! I do believe, what you posted, Dominus Iesus, is the context that the blessed Father is speaking in. I think at death, a soul, "Possibly" from any religion has an opportunity, depending on there "Spiritual" choices in this life to enter into the Catholic Church, through Purgatory. "And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be … [More]

Dominus Iesus says it's possible for those not visibly united to the Church to be saved in ways known only to God himself. It also says that those not visibly united to the Catholic Church are, objectively speaking, in a gravely deficient situation with respect to their salvation. It then bases evangelization on this--the objectively deficient situation of members of other religions. It DOES NOT say non-Catholics don't need to convert because they should just be good members of their own … [More]

Revthree, my friend.
Let's do put what the Holy Father has said in complete context.
You wrote:
The Pope acknowledges that efforts by Christians to convert Jews have caused severe problems over the centuries.

Holy Cannoli:
Please my friend. Lets at "Least", put what the Holy Father said;
Israel is in the hands of God, who will save it ‘as a whole’ at the proper time, when the number of Gentiles is full,” the pope writes.
In full context. While the Pope affirms that salvation only comes through Jesus Christ, he argues that the mission of the Church is primarily to the Gentiles, and cites the belief of St. Bernard that God will bring Jews into the fold at a time “that cannot be anticipated.”

I was at the funeral of John Paul II and still love him.
Regarding his beatification I apreciate what his postulator Monsignor Oder had to say:
"He was a true man and he was a man of God," the postulator said.
But he wasn't perfect, acknowledged. Responding to a question on the defects of Karol Wojtyla, the postulator recalled that holiness does not mean flawlessness.
"Only two people were born and grew up without blemish," he reminded, "Jesus and Mary." Read more: www.zenit.org/article-31983… [More]

The United Kingdom's sex education program is blatantly diabolical in nature. Satan's greatest victory is in the corruption of the children and this story stands out as the most telling one in recognizing the signs of the times we are living in. As Jesus said you can look to the sky and recognize elements in the weather yet you cannot recognize signs of the times. This sex education story in the United Kingdom should shock the entire world yet it has not-why? Through the process of "Gradualism"… [More]

The Church Has No Mission to the Jews?
Vatican
Israel is in the hands of God, who will save it ‘as a whole’ at the proper time, when the number of Gentiles is full,” the pope writes.
Why pander to and try to appease the Jews? What is to be gained? If God will save Israel 'as a whole' at the proper time what then will become of millions of Jews who die before that unspecified time and were not preached Christ crucified because the Church has decided to preach “primarily to Gentiles”?
If, as … [More]
