"Dear young people, remain rooted in Christ and firm in your faith! The only way to be joyful and tireless witnesses of God's infinite love for us." These were just some of the words Pope Benedict XVI spoke to the faithful gathered in St Peter's Square for the Palm Sunday Angelus prayer, marking also the 26th World Youth Day. Reminding everyone of the meeting of August for World Youth Day in Madrid, Pope Benedict XVI, in his greeting in Polish, explained that "the Cross of Christ is God's "yes" to humanity, the ultimate expression of His love and the source from which life springs eternal. The Pope invited young people to receive the Cross of Jesus, a sign of God as a source of new life. In greetings in Spanish, the Pope joined the initiative foreseen in Colombia for the Good Friday Prayer for victims of violence, calling for "no more violence in Colombia, that peace may reign!"
