Last week a statue of Our Lady of Lourdes, located at the rear of the church of Sacre-Coeur de la Roche-sur-Yon was grounded and decapitated. Bishop Alain Castet of Luçon, Vendée, France, said: “During the Holy Week, we can only be saddened by this act of vandalism. We do not know the perpetrators and their motives, and we deplore the senselessness of this attack. We know the commitment of the inhabitants to this statue. We pray with them and we share their pain.” The prefect of Vendee took a much stronger stand. He said: “This is an odious and targeted act taking place in the Holy Week. This is also an attack on the laicity and the Republic”.

On January 1st 2012, a constitution for the 21st century will enter into force in Hungary. “God bless Hungary” is the subtitle of the text that was approved last Tuesday by the nation’s Parliament. It “recognizes the role of Christianity in the preservation of our nation”. The new text defines the family as “base for the nation’s survival” and establishes fiscal and electoral advantages to manifold households. Unique is the content of the 21st article. It allows a Parliamentarian super-majority of two thirds to proportionate additional powers to parents of manifold families to vote on behalf of their sons. The new constitution “protects the institution of marriage as between a man and a woman”.

In a string of property crimes against California Catholic parishes, the latest episode has seen vandals spraying graffiti on the church of the historic Old Mission in Santa Barbara hours before the Easter Sunday morning Mass. The crime caused 1,000 dollars in damage. The graffiti were slandering the Catholic Church. Police are investigating the case with the added enhancement of vandalism to a place of worship, which is a felony.

Looks like good things are happening in Hungary. The EU is not happy with Hungary's constitution....especially regarding remarks concerning 
the protection of the unborn. So you know Hungary is going in the right direction.

The decapitation of Our Lady's statue shows the weakness and pathetic nature of satan in how he is powerless and can only defile objects and nothing more. Satan is a defeated enemy and can only throw temper tantrums in his powerless state like this act of breaking a statue of Our Lady. Satan can do nothing to harm God or Our Lady so like a squirming infant he lashes out at a statue!-What a weak …More
