Take a look at this "teaching" of Father Jonas Abib and Canção Nova that there will be a Kingdom of Christ on Earth. "Through the Mission of Canção Nova in communion with the whole Church (sic) we are preparing the 2nd coming of Jesus ... He just does not want to surprise us ... No one has preached the end of the world ... We know and have professed in our preaches that the end of the world stands for long later. What is going to happen is what some theologians of the Church, like St. Bernard (sic) called the intermediate coming of the Lord. He will come after the end of the world for the last judgment. But for now He will come to establish His Kingdom among us ... As the Bible says, we will have a long time of a new heaven and a new earth, a new world, a new humanity. "(Father Jonas Abib) "We're in the ultimate evangelization" (Father Jonas Abib) "It is not time anymore we keep postponing the Lord's coming for no matter how many centuries, but to state clearly the Lord will come and will come at any time and the signs are ripe for His coming (sic), though he does not come to destroy the world, He comes to establish His Kingdom, "(Father Jonas Abib). This idea that Christ will return before the Last Judgement and reign on Earth is completely HERETIC, based on a literal interpretation of Scripture (Revelation 20: 4-6). The Church has always condemned this interpretation of an expectation of a kingdom of Christ on Earth. Just remember that Cerinthus by the time of the Apostles had believed and taught that a thousand years of happiness would be done on Earth before the Last Judgement and the resurrection. Cerinthus was condemned by St. John the Apostle and St. Irenaeus in his work "Against Heretics". During the Middle Ages many millenarian sects have emerged and the Church condemned THEM ALL. The Church has condemned pre-millennial eschatology which was previously known as Chiliasm. Although Chiliasm was discredited by the early Church during the first few centuries of her existence, pre-millennialism came back in the 19th and 20th centuries with the wave of Protestant evangelicalism. As a result, the Holy Office, on July 21, 1944 under Pope Pius XII, decreed: “In recent times on several occasions this Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office has been asked what must be thought of the system of mitigated Millenarianism, which teaches, for example, that Christ the Lord before the final judgment, whether or not preceded by the resurrection of the many just, will come visibly to rule over this world. The answer is: The system of mitigated Millenarianism cannot be taught safely” (Denzinger 2296). Being so this FALSE doctrine of Christ's kingdom on Earth CAN NOT BE TAUGHT BY A CATHOLIC. But suffice is to know the Catechism what is the duty of every Catholic, the more the clergy. From the CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH Article 7 "FROM THENCE HE WILL COME AGAlN TO JUDGE THE LIVING AND THE DEAD" I. He Will Come Again in Glory Christ already reigns through the Church. . . 676 - The Antichrist's deception already begins to take shape in the world every time the claim is made to realize within history that messianic hope which can only be realized beyond history through the eschatological judgement. the Church has rejected even modified forms of this falsification of the kingdom to come under the name of millenarianism,576 especially the "intrinsically perverse" political form of a secular messianism.577 Look! It is the CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH that tells us the teaching of Fr. Jonas Abib is “ANTICHRISTIC” and “INTRINSICALLY PERVERSE”. In his last Encyclical "Caritas in Veritate" Pope Benedict also condemns Millenarism referring to it as a renewal of humanity to the "original natural state" because that is what heretics say that this alleged "Kingdom of Christ on Earth" will do, and Father Jonas Abib refers to it as "a long time of a new heaven and new earth, a new world, a new humanity”. “Idealizing technical progress, or contemplating the utopia of a return to humanity's original natural state, are two contrasting ways of detaching progress from its moral evaluation and hence from our responsibility”. (Benedict XVI, Caritas in Veritate Nr 14) And there is too much more against this INSANE teaching from Fr Jonas Abib. “St. Augustine finally held to the conviction that there will be no millennium. The struggle between Christ and His saints on the one hand and the wicked world and Satan on the other, is waged in the Church on earth; so the great Doctor describes it in his work De Civitate Dei. In the same book he gives us an allegorical explanation of Chapter 20 of the Apocalypse. The first resurrection, of which this chapter treats, he tells us, refers to the spiritual rebirth in baptism; the sabbath of one thousand years after the six thousand years of history is the whole of eternal life — or in other words, the number one thousand is intended to express perfection, and the last space of one thousand years must be understood as referring to the end of the world; at all events, the kingdom of Christ, of which the Apocalypse speaks, can only be applied to the Church (City of God XX.5-7). This explanation of the illustrious Doctor was adopted by succeeding Western theologians, and millenarianism in its earlier shape no longer received support.” “...millenarianism was never held in the universal Church as an article of faith based on Apostolic traditions. ( http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/10307a.htm ) From the Treatise of Dogmatic Theology “The final treatise of dogmatic theology has to do with the four last things. According as we consider either the individual or mankind in general, there is seen to be a double consummation of all things. For the individual the last things are death and the particular judgment, to which corresponds, as his final state and condition, either heaven or hell. The consummation of the human race on doomsday will be preceded by certain indications of the impending disaster, right after which will occur the resurrection of the dead and the general judgment. As for the opinion that there will be a glorious reign of Christ upon earth for a thousand years previous to the final end of all things, suffice it to remark that there is not the slightest foundation for it in revelation, and even a moderate form of Chiliasm must be rejected as untenable”. ( http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/14580a.htm ) What do Canção Nova and Fr. Jonas Abib intend with this teaching? So who teaches and defends ideas TOTALLY opposite to the teachings of the Catholic Church might be called Catholic? Catholic Charismatic Renewal (and Canção Nova) fit perfectly into the definition of Protestant sects. To prove that Canção Nova is a Protestant sect within the Catholic Church it is enough to compare these teachings of Fr. Jonas Abib with the beliefs of some Protestant sects. Then it gets clear the incompatibility of Canção Nova and Fr. Jonas Abib’s teaching with the Holy Catholic Doctrine. I challenge any faithful charismatic, follower and collaborator of Canção Nova to refute what I'm saying. And those who cannot, forward this to Prof. Felipe Aquino and ask him to respond with clarity in his TV Show “School of the Faith”: "Is Canção Nova by teaching about the establishment of a “kingdom of Christ on earth " in communion with the Catholic Church?". "Monsignor Jonas Abib can simply throw away the teachings of the Catechism of the Catholic Church to teach what he paranoiacally wishes?" To charismatics of value being deceived by this heretical sect called Canção Nova, I invite to study the issue and decide to stay with the Catholic Doctrine or the camouflaged Protestantism of Canção Nova of the RCC. Consider how the charismatic Canção Nova is preparing for the coming of Christ's kingdom on earth. It is the Carnival "Come Lord Jesus": http://www.gloria.tv/?media=132154 And finally I leave these words of Him who is the Truth. "My kingdom is not of this world." (John 18:36)“Canção Nova” is a herectical sect.
