"In separate occasions, Don Orione mentioned that millions will come seeking refuge in Argentina “from a northern hemisphere devastated by a great war.” They will help rebuild the country ruined by a century of destructive, knavish, incompetent administrations"
Commentary on the Gospel XXVI AND LAST SUNDAY AFTER PENTECOST Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite Obligation to preach unpleasant truths. "I beg you, dearest brothers, do not put it in my face that I speak to you so often about that tremendous day of judgment, and if there is anyone who dislikes my way of acting, think of the danger in which I find myself and listen to the Lord, who threatens the priest terribly through his prophet, and says: If I say to the wicked: You will die!, and you do not admonish him and do not speak to him..., the wicked will die in his iniquity..., but I will sue you for his blood (Ez. 3,18-20). And if, despite this, someone says: Why do you preach such hard things to us so continuously? Answer you: because it is better to suffer here a small bitterness and then like the eternal sweetness than to live here in false joy and then suffer endless torments... Hear me, brothers, not to me, but to the Lord in his gospel... Blessed are those who weep, because they …More
By Eric Utter Put a fork in England, she is toast. “The king is dead! Shaun Remmer, a now former teaching assistant from the North Yorkshire town of Thirsk, was recently relieved of his job after he was “snitched on” for hoisting the Union Jack in his hometown. Remmer recently put up around 150 British flags across Thirsk, intending for them to symbolize the “unity” of Britain. Whereas, Remmer says, numerous neighbors have stopped him in the street to shake his hand and thank him for putting up the flags, apparently, a few took offense and reported him to his place of work, eventually leading to him losing his job. (Care to guess who these folks were?) Yet, Palestinian flags and LGBTQ flags are fine to fly, in fact, are nearly ubiquitous in certain areas of the U.K. — and America, as well. (See also: college campuses, Minneapolis, etc.) What kind of country bans its own flag from being displayed by its own citizens on account of a few complaints from those in a certain demographic …
What Is Advent? | Hope, Waiting & Preparing for Jesus | Catechism for Kids St Joseph's Corner What if the whole Church had a “getting ready” season before Christmas? That’s exactly what Advent is — a beautiful time of hope, waiting, and preparation for the coming of Jesus. In this episode of Catechism for Kids, we explore everything children and families need to know about Advent, which begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas and ends on Christmas Eve. The word “Advent” comes from the Latin adventus, meaning “coming” — because we prepare our hearts for two things: the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, and His second coming at the end of time. Advent is filled with themes of hope, peace, joy, and love, inspired by Scripture readings from Isaiah, the prophets, and the story of John the Baptist. We’ll also explore the beautiful traditions of the season: Advent wreaths with their purple and pink candles Advent calendars to count the days Special church services …More

The House Oversight Committee subpoenaed Maxwell to testify, in July. Her attorney has said she will only do so if granted full immunity from prosecution. “[I]f Ms. Maxwell were to receive clemency, she would be willing—and eager—to testify openly and honestly, in public, before Congress in Washington, D.C.,” her attorney David Oscar Markus wrote at the time. …

On 20 November, Bishop Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe, 60, of Makurdi, Nigeria, told Domradio.de that the persecution of Christians in Nigeria has been going on for more than 15 years and is getting worse every day. He recalls discussing the massacres of Christians in Nigeria with 'Aid to the Church in Need' in 2018: 'That alone created a certain awareness and corrected the narrative of our government at the time, namely that the crisis was caused by climate change or external influences. In reality, that was not true." People are currently dying every day: "No reasonable government should remain silent and watch its citizens being slaughtered", Monsignor Anagbe said. "We demand that the government finally does what is necessary to stop this killing." The bishop says that both Christians and Muslims are being killed. "But it is not Christians who are killing Muslims. It is the same perpetrators who are killing liberal Muslims because they do not accept their ideology. Radical fundamentalist …More
