Irmã (Sister) Dulce - The Angel of Bahia
DougAdair on Apr 24, 2007 Irma (Sister) Dulce - The Angel of Bahia started caring for impoverished, sick people in 1949 in her convent's chicken yard in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. In 1959, the Charitable Works Foundation of Sister Dulce (OSID) was established. Today the 1,000 bed teaching hospital receives more than 3,000 people everyday who come to receive free medical treatment. Sister Dulce also established a free school for 800 students in Simoes Filho, one of the poorest communities in Bahia. Your help is needed to support the mission and continue the wish of Irma Dulce, who died in 1992, to always keep her door open to the needy.
