The progress that has been made in ecumenism was underlined today by Benedict XVI, who received the Catholicos of Cilicia of the Armenians, Aram I, at the Vatican this morning. The visit included a time of shared prayer in the Redemptoris Mater Chapel, attended by the Catholicos and his accompanying delegation. In his address, Benedict XVI noted the importance of theological dialogue, which currently focuses on the nature and mission of the Church. The Holy Father also ensured his continuous prayers for the situation in Lebanon and the entire Middle East region, the home of the Catholicos. Peace must be based on justice and mutual respect.
