I no longer wonder what kind of emotionally unstable, hostile, belligerent individual (displeased with the station's termination of Fr. Corapi) would write to EWTN making personal attacts to the network’s employees denigrating the staff and maligning the character and intentions of people who have served EWTN for years, often at great personal sacrifice.

I no longer wonder because we have such an unstable lunatic right here at gloria.tv.

There's St. Augustine, St. Francis & St. Ignatius (rich), St. Pellegrino, St. Mary Magdalene, etc., etc., (I am asking my daughter, and she is dictating to me)...There but for the Grace of the Lord...
Holy Cannoli  06/07/2011 14:06:13
What would make a sinner make reparation? If the sinner is sinning with impunity, isn't it likely that they will continue their decadent behavior until something drastically changes in their lives? I'm thinking of St. Paul but there have been other saints who reformed after experiencing some sort of personal tragedy.

Perhaps (there are no guarantees ) something like this will happen in this case after he is destroyed (figuratively speaking)?

Irapuato  06/07/2011 13:59:11
Yes, Our Lord is a Lord of Mercy, but He is also a Lord of Justice...Better do reparation here on earth, than elsewhere...
Holy Cannoli  06/07/2011 13:52:45
Pray for them. But, be sure that those who are guilty of crimnal behavior are punished to the full extent of the law especially those who have given scandal to children or who have brought shame to the Catholic Church.

The Vatican told bishops around the world on Monday that they must make it a global priority to root out sexual abuse of children by priests.

The headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church told bishops in a letter that they should … [More]

Shouldn't we also pray for the Sheep Dog's concubine? What about the other women who are alleged to have done the “Sheep Dog Tango”?

Much more importantly, shouldn't we pray for those poor souls, many of them Catholic, who will look at this incident combined with the ongoing clerical sex scandals and decide to turn their back on the Catholic Church? A Church that they could easily say has more than its share of liars, hypocrites and cowards who refuse to discipline those guilty of scandalous … [More]

That's right, Alinalotte! AND, YES-PRIDE!!--UGLIEST OF SINS....AND, DEFINITELY, PRAYER & FASTING ARE NEEDED...
alinalotte  06/07/2011 12:15:02
@ IRAPUATO - someone wise said that priests are only as holy as the people who pray for them. Pride is the original sin -let's remember it was the sin of pride that brought the downfall of the most beautiful, intelligent one trusted with bringing the light of wisdom of God's Word to others, the Luci fer ,his downfall came when he decided to set his ego above the Living Word . For it is by believing in Jesus, the Living Word and holding onto His Word ,denying ourselves that the Father loves us and … [More]

You chaps crack me up! Cannoli, do take note of my conclusion to the first post. I concluded that maybe it is a phenomenon of the human condition rather than a national one.
Irapuato  06/07/2011 10:25:26
Thanks! Next time I will say: "I am judging by my sensations!"
Holy Cannoli  06/07/2011 10:23:30
I GO BY MY FEELINGS-

In this case I believe you are judging by your sensations which, for the moment, is cold.

Now, if you became enraged because the cold temperature was the result of someone's incompetence and if you intended to tell whoever was responsible exactly what you thought of them (this would be my course of action, by the way), that would be going by your feelings.

p.s. Today will be another beautiful sunny day here with temps in the mid 80s. (30 Celsius)

Irapuato  06/07/2011 10:18:43
Well, this Latina's experience: It is winter, I am freezing, I turn up the heater--Oh, no!--I musn't--the thermostat says it's 20degrees C--WHO CARES!I CONFESS: I GO BY MY FEELINGS-I DO NOT CARE WHAT THAT CONTRAPTION SAYS!

As I have said before in discussion with some fellow Europeans here on Gloria.tv, Americans, due to their lack of ….

Because of the infinitesimally small sample of posters at Gloria.tv, no worthwhile conclusions can be drawn as to the thinking vs. feeling phenomenon among all Americans that you mentioned. Likewise, I don't believe that based on your own personal experiences can any serious conclusion be drawn regarding your belief in the superiority of European thinking.

If anything, I would … [More]

@ Cannoli - A most excellent objection. THIS shows a thinking mind desparately trying to guide the heart; whither shall we go, heart?

I concurr, that prayer must have direction and reasonable intent, is a basic premise of all the great Saints. Herein lies the requirement for intellectual analysis in order to know what to pray for and why. On the other hand, we also need to pray for guidence in the intellectual pursuit of the starting point(s) of prayer.

Therefore, maybe, prayer and … [More]

O.K. Pray that Father Corapi repents, and makes reparation, before it is TOO late...

This may seem like I'm picking on you, Ira, but that is not my intention.

You wrote:

better, yet, PRAY for him

How often we hear that said! Pray for him, pray for her or pray for it. Although, especially in cases of healing, the request of the prayer is obvious not infrequently prayers take the form of “please, Lord, allow 2+2= 5.”

In The Black SheepDog's case, what should we pray for?

Should prayers be said that the allegations made against him are untrue (praying, in effect, that what … [More]

Hello, HC & ACL! HC, these words are not mine--I copied them from www.catholic.culture....The only thing I can say is that, as Our Lady has asked us to do:WE MUST PRAY-PRAY-PRAY-FOR OUR PRIESTSI certainly DO NOT want to judge ANY PRIEST--though, I confess, I am guilty of doing soI saw Gloria Polo talk in person, and THE LORD CHASTISED HER FOR SPEAKING ILL OF PRIESTS!!! http://all.gloria.tv/?media=75901 As for those who continue to support Father Corapi, they must speak for themselves--better, … [More]

Greetings? In Europe we begin early academic formation in the best primary schools. Chaps here learn to prize coherent, logical thought over and above emotional outbursts and irrational behaviour resulting in unreasonable decisions. Like Theresa of Avila has advised, educate your emotions so that they conform to that 'higher soul' or intellect which is illumined by God.

As I have said before in discussion with some fellow Europeans here on Gloria.tv, Americans, due to their lack of a classical … [More]

Ira,

You wrote: Why were warning signs ignored?

I have a couple of questions. These are not “trick” questions. I simply would like your thoughts.

1) What makes a Fr. Corapi supporter continue to be a Corapi supporter even in the face of the kind of damning information that has been released by SOLT yesterday? Do you believe it is a case of denial that serves to deny unpleasant fact/s altogether? (Denial: a defense mechanism usually seen in an immature mind that conflicts with the ability to … [More]
