I just heard on the national radio yesterday that the Florida coast is a hotspot for sharks. A suitable repellent might be a liquid detergent as used for washing fat and grease off the dishes, to be kept for immediate use to spray at an approaching shark. There are proprietary repellents as well. I would just keep out of the water all together.
