@bkovacs - Actually, in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, "liturgical dance" as defined by Cardinal Arinze is used. Cardinal Mahony was one of the first bishops in the U.S. to fully embrace the multicultural ethnicity of his archdiocese, which is in full display at the bigger Masses. You may get your wish in regards to the dancing, considering Archbishop Gomez is not a fan as Cardinal Mahony was.
He says that they know there are problems. It's 2011, and still nothing enforced from Rome. The Mass is still the bland Mass in my neck of the woods. Altar girls, folk music, abundance of EMHC. (Archdiocese of Philadelphia).
Seeing that this came out in 2008. It looks like the good Cardinals knowlege has fallen on deaf ears in the Archdiocese of LA, in regards to liturgical dance, as well as over 90% of parishes in the US and Canada, in regards to music.
