Lousy "catholics" in the White House don't do a darn thing about the slaughter of the Christians and certainly won't get anything done with a muslim president in D.C. The whole world should be crying out about this.
The fact is that the Vatican was late to this party and it's not the first time. That won't mean much to those suffering from an "Authority Complex" (the Vatican or Catholic bishops can never error no matter what) but such is life.
@ Holy Cannoli, great! At last you see the light! Well done! I always thought that you'd get there eventually. Good on ya mate!!!! Christus vincit Christus regnat Christus imperat Viva il Papa!
No, the Vatican is never to blame and neither are the bishops. Welcome to the "Authority Zombie's World" of "Infallibility Gone Wild."
It's the politicians fault, the fault of the laity, the fault of a misinterpretation of VC-II and on and on and on. Every decision, every appointment, every act and every announcement (or non announcement) from the Vatican or Vatican appointed bishops is always without error.
@ Louella, though I agree that more should be done for persecuted Christians ... I think that blaming the Vatican is missing the real target ... what are Catholic politicians doing all over the world? US Vice President Biden is a Catholic ... any words demanding his co-religionists security? German Chancellor Merkl is the daughter of a Lutheran Pastor. Has she uttered a word to ensure the welfare of fellow Christians? It is too easy to blame the Vatican ... but it is the laity that should take … [More]
The Vatican should be leading the way in demanding the security and welfare of Christians persecuted throughout the world.....not taking a back seat to secular organisations and media etc. Honestly!
After numerous religious rights organizations have already expressed their outrage, I am happy to hear that the Vatican has (finally) commented in favor of the Christian convert, Iranian Yousef Nadarkhani.
The latest update is that Iran has capitulated to world wide pressure and their will be a retrial.
