Solemnity of the Immaculate

Dear Friends,

First of all, under the protection of the Mother of God, we want to thank everybody who have responded generously to our request of 13th of May and it was made possible to gather 47,100 of the 150,000 Euros which needs to rebuild the presbytery and tabernacle in Catholic parish in Russia. We have received the private donations from many people and from organizations such as the Delegation of Mission of the Archdiocese of Valladolid, Real Oratorio Caballero de Gracia, the Roman Academic Center Foundation, Barcelona and Family Foundation, the Association Peñalver, College Retamar and monastery of nuns. We thank all of them warmly.

The parish of St. John Baptist in Tsarskoe Selo (St. Petersburg) was built in 1825. It was a beautiful temple. It was closed in 1938, after it opened as bicycling club. And then, there was as a concert hall in the 80’s.

To transform the interior of the Temple, we need remove the scene of the concert hall and instead of, put an altar, an ambo, a lectern, and especially we would like a tabernacle which will be truly worthy of the Lord, because it allows people to enjoy a bit of beauty after so much suffering and unjust dispossession. Now we have money to buy some materials for the most expensive part of the project: the altar which will cost 80,000 Euros. In January, 2012 we will start it. The Lord, help us raise enough money to pay every bill in term.

For the rest 100,000 Euros we need 2,000 people to send us 50 Euros. Maybe you’re one of them? Or maybe, understanding, that’s so difficult to find so many people, you could send 1000 Euros?
