I have always liked working with horses and even as a child
marvelled that a horse far exceeding my strength could be
so compliant. Whenever I see the word “meekness” being
used in Holy Scripture, I think of that great horse being
controlled by a small child; the horse retained its strength
and power, and yet was submissive to a will beyond its own.
Meekness isn’t weakness; rather it is power under control.
