In September 2024, a German general practitioner wrote to eleven German-speaking cardinals and bishops, as well as the conservative Cistercian abbey of Heiligenkreuz near Vienna, Austria. His aim was to propose a redefinition of the concept of protecting human life—one that would recognize human life from the moment an egg and sperm fuse. The outcome: He received evasive replies from the prelates Rainer Maria Woelki (Cologne), Bertram Meier (Augsburg), Reinhard Marx (Munich), and Rudolf Voderholzer (Regensburg), all of whom sidestepped the issue. No reply at all came from Stephan Burger (Freiburg) and Christoph Schönborn (then still Archbishop of Vienna), from Heiligenkreuz Abbey, or from the German Bishops' Conference - which had in fact received three letters. Bishop Stefan Oster (Passau) forwarded the letter to the German Bishops' Conference. The then-bishop Gregor Hanke (Eichstätt) and Cardinal Gerhard Müller responded positively. Cardinal Müller replied in April 2025 about "the …More
Dan 5:1-6, 13-14, 16-17, 23-28 When people stray from God's love, they draw closer to evil. And the more people who join in, the more excesses there are. Every day, if possible, let us return to God's love, let us rediscover joy within ourselves. And let us improve the plan of our existence. Luke 21:12-19 Jesus says, "You will be hated by all because of my name." In our time, we could say that people who have strayed from God's Love are harming themselves, and this will harm others, and to us. It is necessary to entrust these people and their difficulties to the Lord. Then we say: Thank you, Lord, for your Love that passes through my heart, into the hearts of my family, my friends, and humanity. We have just freed ourselves, and this frees these people, and humanity. Biblical texts: NAB-RE Normand Thomas.
The newspaper Le Parisientook a look at the best-selling books in France, both online and in bookshops. The conclusion is clear: the top spot goes to a trio of conservative authors and political figures, Philippe de Villiers, Éric Zemmour and Jordan Bardella. To be precise, the best-selling author in France at the moment is an American, Freida McFadden, who writes successful thrillers. But when it comes to political books, the result is unequivocal and reflects the French people’s clear preference for right-wing ideas. Jordan Bardella, president of the Rassemblement National (RN), has already sold nearly 42,000 copies of his programme-narrative, Ce que veulent les Français (What the French Want), published on October 29th. He is almost on a par with Éric Zemmour and his essay on France’s Catholic identity, La Messe n’est pas dite (The Mass Is Not Said), released on October 22nd and already selling 45,000 copies. Both are surpassed by the latest work by sovereigntist Philippe de …

Nov 25 "By your perseverance you will secure your lives” We post today the last words of Nikolaus von Halem who died in 1944. He was a German businessman, husband, and father who was put to death for his resistance to the Nazi regime. He wrote his final thoughts to his mother shortly before he was killed. The quote is taken from the Magnificat. And like the Good Thief let us hope and pray that we too will be prepared for eternity when that final day comes. By your perseverance you will secure your lives My dearest, unfortunate one, that you must experience this great pain! I am writing this two days before the hearing, prepared for anything and in a state of great inner peace. How consoling is the prospect that my sufferings are soon to end. Only the fact that your sufferings will then really begin and go on oppresses and torments me. Book of Daniel 2,31-45. Daniel said to Nebuchadnezzar: “In your vision, O king, you saw a statue, very large and exceedingly bright, terrifying in appearance as it stood before you. The head of the statue was pure gold, its chest and arms were silver, its belly and thighs bronze, the legs iron, its feet partly iron and partly tile. While you looked at the statue, a stone which was hewn from a mountain without a hand being put to it, struck its iron and tile feet, breaking them in pieces. The iron, tile, bronze, silver, and gold all crumbled at once, fine as the chaff on the threshing floor in summer, and the wind blew them away without leaving a trace. But the stone that struck the statue became a great mountain and filled the whole earth. "This was the dream; the interpretation we shall also give in the king's presence. You, O king, are the king of kings; to you the God of heaven has given dominion and strength, power and glory; men, wild beasts, and birds of the air, wherever they …More

Steiner was an apostate Catholic. The Holy Office condemned his "anthroposophy" as Neo-gnostic in 1919. Anthroposophy (a system Steiner himself developed) claims to investigate and describe the spiritual world with the same precision and clarity that natural science brings to the physical world, using methods of such as clairvoyance which, in his view, can be trained. Clairvoyance replaces the need for Divine Revelation. Anthroposophy relies heavily on "reincarnation" and "karma." He held extremely heretical views on the Trinity and Christology.
AfD party conference Essen 2015. Wikimedia Commons, Olaf Kosinsky/Skillshare.eu,CC-BY-SA-3.0-DE The cordon sanitaire against the Alternative for Germany party (AfD) looks to be crumbling among German industrialists, with two major associations reviewing their approach to the right-wingers. On November 16, the influential association of family enterprises Die Familienunternehmer (The Family Business Entrepreneurs, FU) announced it was ending its “ban” on any contact with AfD representatives. “At the core, our decision was about the interpretation of what the cordon sanitaire against AfD actually is and what its aims are,” FU president Marie-Christine Ostermann told newspaper Handelsblatt today. “For us the cordon sanitaire meant that we did not invite AfD MPs to our events out of principle. We have now ended this type of contact ban,” Ostermann said. She added, though, that her association was not keen to see AfD as a coalition partner in a future government. However, the …
