This reminds me of the parable of the wheat and tares. Every Christian has to persevere in the faith to the end. But, many liberal Catholics I know, even some progressive clerics would not have a problem with this. They would say, "why can't a Bishop go on vacation, and spend quality time with friends...after all he wasn't at a nudist beach." Or I’ve heard them say things like, "good grief, do you think God cares if a Bishop goes swimming or has a little fun?"
