On 30 October, the German Bishops’ Conference published a guide urging Catholic schools to incorporate homosexual ideology. The title is: 'Created, Redeemed and Seduced Loved: Visibility and recognition of sexual identity diversity in schools”. In it, the bishops adopt the vocabulary and assumptions of gender ideology (queer, non-binary, cis, heteronormativity). They blaspheme that God willed homosexual lifestyles. It does not come from the teaching of the Church, nor does it reflect the truth of what happens to the soul after death. This “forty days” belief actually comes from a misinterpretation of Scripture. After Jesus rose from the dead, He appeared to His disciples for forty days before ascending into heaven (Acts 1:3). His only major appointment has been that of Archbishop Filippo Iannone to fill the seat that the Pope himself had held, as prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops. (And Archbishop Iannone, significantly, was already serving a ranking member of the Curia, as prefect of the Dicastery for Legislative Texts.) Nor has the new Pope been energetic in bringing in his own men at lower tiers of Vatican officialdom.
