Pope Leo XIV has accepted the resignation of Archbishop Paolo Pezzi from the Archdiocese of the Mother of God in Moscow - an unusual move given that Archbishop Pezzi is only 65 years old and the Vatican offered no explanation for his departure. InfoVaticana.com writes that the departure is "primarily due to accumulated personal burnout/exhaustion after years in an especially demanding post." Leo XIV appointed Bishop Nikolai Dubinin, O.F.M. Conv., auxiliary bishop of Moscow, as Apostolic Administrator of the archdiocese. Monsignor Pezzi has led the Moscow archdiocese since 2007. He has been a Russian citizen since 2011. In January 2026, he declined to sign a statement by Christian and Protestant leaders in Russia concerning the alleged oppression of Christians in several countries, including Ukraine. A spokesman stated that Archbishop Pezzi did not sign because he had no authority to comment officially on foreign states. Archbishop Pezzi’s ecclesial background is in the Priestly Fraternity …More
05/02/2026 Entire blog as a free PDF eBook. A title like that fits practically any topic that might come to mind. The carbon tax, the fight against the economic decline caused by the authorities’ “rescue measures” in the area of migration, global warming, which is currently heading in a direction that threatens the planet with apocalyptic cold waves. One could go on and on with this list. This whole circus boils down to one thing: governments are serving us, on a silver platter, a solution to problems that would never have arisen in the first place without the active involvement of these very governments. It’s as simple as building a flail. A flail is an agricultural hand tool used for threshing, the process of separating grains from their husks. It can also be used for military purposes being made in the same way as a threshing-flail but much stronger and furnished with iron spikes. Source. Yes, it’s simple—but not for everyone. I still come across people who are firmly convinced …
Pope Leo XIV has brought to the table the delicate situation of Christians in the Middle East during a telephone conversation held this Wednesday, April 29, with the President of the European Council, António Costa, in a context marked by the growing instability in the region and the real risk to Christian communities. According to Vatican News, the Pontiff centered the dialogue on two particularly sensitive points: the West Bank, in the State of Palestine, and the situation of Christians in southern Lebanon, one of the areas where the Christian presence is increasingly threatened by geopolitical tension. Lebanon, a focus of concern for the Holy See During the conversation, Leo XIV emphasized the situation of Christians in southern Lebanon, where communities live under constant pressure amid unending conflicts. The reference is not minor. Lebanon has historically been one of the few countries in the region with a significant Christian presence, today weakened by political instability …More
"The august Mary replied by the Magnificat and other new canticles; and while chanting them, inflamed by the divine fire, she was rapt in a sublime ecstasy, and, lifted up from the earth in a globe of brilliant light which encircled her, she was transformed as in a glory."
[Venerable Mary of Agreda – XVII Century AD; Agreda, Spain; Mystic; Writer; ‘Blue Nun’] Chapter V ~ ST. JOSEPH ASKS PARDON OF THE HOLY MARY HIS SPOUSE— HE RESOLVES TO SERVE HER IN ALL THINGS WITH PROFOUND RESPECT ST. JOSEPH, after the discovery of his error, waited until our blessed Lady should come forth from her retreat. As soon as he thought it was time, he opened the door of the little chamber occupied by the mother of the heavenly King, and, throwing himself at her feet, he exclaimed, with humility and profound veneration, ‘ My spouse, Mother of the Eternal Word, behold your servant prostrate before you. By the same Lord whom you bear in your most chaste bosom, I pray you to pardon my presumption. Sure I am that none of my thoughts can be hidden from your wisdom, nor from the divine light which you have received. Great was my blindness to think of deserting you; but you know that I did it in ignorance, because neither the secret of the great King had been revealed to me, nor the …More
Canadian Doctors Try to Railroad Catholic Priest into 'Assisted Suicide' Over Broken Hip | Frank Bergman, Slay News A Canadian Catholic priest is sounding the alarm after doctors tried to pressure him into “assisted suicide” twice while recovering from a broken hip in a hospital, despite him telling them that euthanasia goes against his beliefs. Father Larry Holland, a 79-year-old priest from the Archdiocese of Vancouver, was horrified that Canadian government-sanctioned doctors attempted to railroad him into being euthanized, despite not being terminally ill. The priest’s alarming story underscores growing concerns that Canada’s state-sanctioned assisted suicide program is spiraling far beyond its original limits. Holland said he was “very shocked” after medical pushed so-called “Medical Assistance in Dying” (MAiD) as an “option” during his recovery from a hip fracture. Priest Offered Death While Recovering, Not Dying Holland broke his hip after falling on Christmas Day. He is …More

Leo "has visited Israel repeatedly" and "expressed admiration for the resilience of Jewish life and has cultivated ties with Jewish leaders in Peru, the United States, and Europe. He does not sentimentalize the Palestinian cause, nor reduce the Middle East to a victim-oppressor binary." Those same Vatican sources report that Leo sees "Israel as 'a moral project within history.'" He also "called Netanyahu 'a necessary man in dangerous times,' which, in Vaticanese, borders on radical candor."

On 28 April, Don Nicola Bux, a liturgist close to Benedict XVI, commented on MessaInLatino.it regarding Leo XIV’s audience for Mrs Sarah Mullaly, who holds the title and costume of Archbishop of Canterbury. His text: "There is a contradiction between the many Anglican pastors who have become Catholic priests and been incardinated into the ordinariates established by Benedict XVI, and the Pope’s message of good wishes delivered by Cardinal Koch to Sarah Mullaly, who is not a bishop because she is a woman and is not the Primate of Canterbury, as two-thirds of the Anglican Communion does not recognise her as such.' What about the secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Christian Unity, Monsignor Flavio Pace, who makes the sign of the cross while the Anglican bishop' imparts a blessing in the Clementine Chapel at the tomb of St Peter? Did Koch and Pace not realise the falsity of their actions? Whether out of ignorance or bad faith, they scandalise and confuse many Catholics and require …More
Ah, and by the way, with this statement, Prevost clearly indicates that he has never renounced the apostasy of worshipping Pachamama: "Everything we hear today regarding synodality, we were already doing in Chulucanas back in the 1980s."
Oh, Tom, I love this. It is so, so true. We could benefit, perhaps, in those hard moments by going into our rooms, closing the door, getting on our knees and begging Our Blessed Mother for the right things to say and to help us be the kind of Mother she is.
