Leo XIV honors the secularist Atatürk: On 27 November, Pope Leo XIV visited the Anıtkabir mausoleum in Ankara, the tomb of Kemal Atatürk (1881–1938). He took part in an official wreath-laying ceremony — a symbolic tribute to the founder and first president of modern Turkey. Yet Atatürk is not someone a Pope should honour. He dismantled the Ottoman millet system, where religious communities governed themselves, and imposed a top-down secularism designed to control religious authority and reorder a post-imperial, non-Christian society. By the time he came to power, most Christian communities — Armenians, Greek Orthodox and Syriac Christians — had already been killed or displaced. But under his leadership, the 1923 population exchange forced around 1.2 million Greek Orthodox Christians out of the country, effectively completing the disappearance of Christians from Turkey.
Pope Leo XIV has laid a wreath at the tomb of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk — the leader whose regime completed the destruction of Anatolia’s ancient Christian communities after the Armenian, Greek, and Assyrian genocides. Foreign dignitaries usually perform this ritual, but a Pope?
Legionário, January 28, 1940, No. 385 Pacifism by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira I believe that there has never been a more opportune time for a digression on pacifism than in these days of war that we are experiencing. Because, in reality, pacifism has never seemed to have contributed so much to diverting consciences, [softening] wills, and disarming the most just and imperious resistance. And, above all, it has never sought to hide itself as insistently as it does today under the skin of a lamb, pretending to be very Catholic. I therefore believe that readers of Legionário will benefit from spending a little time reflecting on the subject. * * * One of the characteristic features of Catholic morality is that it not only recommends love of good, but teaches that each virtue, considered directly, must be loved within certain limits, lest it become a defect. What are these limits? Those that are imposed by other higher virtues. As long as our love for a particular virtue is not motivated by …More
Leo XIV has omitted the Filioque clause in the Creed in September and during his actual visit in Turkey. Historical backgrounds. Following the ancient Latin and Alexandrian tradition, the Western Church Fathers like Pope Leo I, Augustine, and Ambrose always confessed and explained the filioque. The biggest disbute over the filioque was at the Council of Florence (1438–39). There, the Latins cited the numerous Greek Fathers to demonstrate that they also believed that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. The leader of the opposing Greek delegation was Archbishop Mark Eugenikos of Ephesus. He maintained the heresy that the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father alone. His side accepted the phrase “through the Son” only in the sense of manifestation, not origin. A turning point of the council came when Johannes von Ragusa showed an ancient codex brought from Constantinople by the philosopher–cardinal Nicholas of Cusa. It contained Basil the Great’s Against Eunomius (…More

Decades later, at the peak of his power, Trump repurposed the stunning insult to hush a journalist asking about Epstein His irritated demand for her to "quiet, piggy" soon went viral, prompting widespread concerns about his increasingly hostile treatment toward reporters The shocking "piggy" insult from the world's most powerful leader echoed a line that Trump himself was hit with in 1987, when he picked an ugly fight with the New York City mayor Long before Donald Trump became president, he was on the receiving end of an insult that he would wield nearly four decades later against a reporter. What Is Advent? | Hope, Waiting & Preparing for Jesus | Catechism for Kids What if the whole Church had a “getting ready” season before Christmas? That’s exactly what Advent is — a beautiful time of hope, waiting, and preparation for the coming of Jesus. In this episode of Catechism for Kids, we explore everything children and families need to know about Advent, which begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas and ends on Christmas Eve. The word “Advent” comes from the Latin adventus, meaning “coming” — because we prepare our hearts for two things: the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, and His second coming at the end of time. Advent is filled with themes of hope, peace, joy, and love, inspired by Scripture readings from Isaiah, the prophets, and the story of John the Baptist. We’ll also explore the beautiful traditions of the season: Advent wreaths with their purple and pink candles Advent calendars to count the days Special church services and readings …More

Love George. But he can get a little too excitable for me and too loud. I love how he speaks his mind and doesn't sugarcoat anything. Or speaks like he has to walk on eggshells. I guess that's why I loved Father Hesse and Father Isaac Relyea. They don't worry about feelings, they worry about the people and the lies that are told and to make sure the people get the truth.
Justin Bronk from the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) Bronk summarized with these points: 1) This document is signed off by two leaders who like ruling as absolutists!...at the stroke of a pen which isn’t within their legal powers. In fact, it appears that Trump is negotiating with Russia AGAINST its allies. Trump has had this position from the outset—“you don’t have any cards,” referring to Zelensky. 2) “Does anyone think that Russia, after having lost 1.3 million casualties of all types, expended enormous amounts of military munitions, missiles and equipment, and having had its military humiliated, is going to be content with this temporary treaty? While all war is a punishment from sin, Ukraine was very corrupt (and still is) when it became a free nation. It had an excellent chance of joining NATO, and now it is too late. Had they been more Christian, less woke and immoral, Ukraine would have been part of Nato, and Russia would not have invaded or seized any of Ukrainian land.
Welcome to the "errors of Russia" no spin zone! I will always try to give you up to date information on our spiritual and mortal enemies. This is authentic Catholic teaching!

On Thursday, the Spanish Civil Guard arrested Laura García de Viedma, abbess of the Sedevacantist Poor Clares at the Belorado monastery. The investigation concerns the alleged sale of artworks and heritage items belonging to the convent. According to Spanish media reports, officers entered the monastery early in the day despite attempts by members of the community to block access. Items from the monastery have reportedly surfaced on the antiques market. Some of the convent's gold, totalling 1.73 kg, was reportedly sold for around €130,000. In recent months, the courts have ordered the nuns to leave Belorado and rejected their attempt to register as a civil association owning the monastery. Most of the group now reside in a monastery in Orduña, having moved several elderly sisters there ahead of the eviction process in Belorado. #newsWeubvnpjjk
