It is traditionally made for Halloween, All Saints' Day, and All Souls' Day to commemorate the dead in many Christian traditions. The Litany of the Saints is a very ancient Christian prayer in which the Church militant calls upon the Church triumphant for help for themselves and the Church suffering. This prayer is of particular use as our fathers enduring all forms of suffering to bring to us the saving faith we now enjoy.
