Do you remember your first communion? Which is greater, the long term memory or the short term memory? Receiving our first communion should be as memorable as a wedding day. What was your first communion day? For that matter, when is the anniversary day of your baptism and confirmation? These are all days we should celebrate. They are all days when Jesus, our God, came down to meet us like never before…

When we receive Jesus in the Eucharist, our bodies become one with Him who is the Eucharist. Jesus Christ is the High Priest who acts in the person of the priest at the altar. The invisible priest, Jesus, acts through the visible priest in saying the words of consecration. So it is not the visible priest who is actually saying the words of consecration. No person has this power unto themselves. It is God Himself who speaks these words.
