I'm from Austria and a few days ago a university did an experiment with pigs (had been slaughtered in a few days anyway and were in anesthesia) in order to know more about how long men can stay alive in a snow slide. This could save a lot of human lives. It didn't take long and all media stations and newspapers were reporting about it and a lot of animal protectors protested against that.
