Saint Hilary of Arles was a brilliant young man pulled between ambition and God. He admitted the struggle himself: “On one side… I saw the Lord calling me; on the other the world offering me its seducing charms and pleasures.” But grace won. Jesus cherishes joy and peace. The childlike joy within us is a sign that we are close to God. Let us continue to meditate on this childlike joy.
