Cardinal André Vingt-Trois of Paris has encouraged the Vatican to criticize those who ask for the celebration of the old Mass, the French blog “summorum-pontificum.fr” has claimed. After the Cardinal’s latest visit to Rome there were rumors that he believes that the Pope, by allowing the old mass, has given ammunition to the so called integrists, ammunition, to be used against the French bishops. Therefore he allegedly put pressure on Cardinal Levada, the President of the Commission Ecclesia Dei and Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, to condemn insupportable activities of those who demand masses according to the extraordinary form.

Yesterday morning, the bishops concelebrated with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone. He reflected on St James Chapter one, urged the bishops to consider their trials, with joy, because while on the one hand they humiliate, on the other they test the faith, producing patience and perseverance. Later, the bishops meet the Pope privately for about seven minutes each.

This the archbishop of Bologna, Cardinal Carlo Caffarra, stated in a doctrinal note, which was published on Sunday. According to the Cardinal, to equalize a homosexual union with marriage would be a grave offense against common good. This would mean that the state declares its neutrality toward two ways of living human sexuality which, in reality, are not equally relevant for the common good.

The Catholic webpage ‘Accidental Blog’ reported on February 8th a terrible story about a passenger tapping the taxi driver on the shoulder to ask him a question. The driver screamed, lost control of the car, nearly hit a bus, went up on the footpath, and stopped centimeters from a shop window. For a second everything went quiet in the cab, then the driver said, "Look mate, don't ever do that again. You scared the daylights out of me!" The passenger apologized and said, "I didn't realize that a little tap would scare you so much. "The driver replied, "Sorry, it's not really your fault. Today is my first day as a cab driver. I've been driving a funeral van for the last 25 years."
