A Disaster: The known historian Roberto de Mattei has asked for the demission of Capuchin Father Fidenzio Volpi, the Apostolic Commissioner of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate who were forbidden by the Pope to celebrate the old liturgy. According to de Mattei, the actions of Fr Volpi have been a disaster. Among his most recent moves, the historian cites the closure of the order’s Seminary, the cancellation of the forthcoming ordination of priests and deacons, a ban of all publications of the order’s publisher Casa Mariana, the suspension of the activities of the lay branch of the Friars and the removal of the friars who were chaplains to the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate.
