Roberto started the transition from a man to a 'woman' at age 17, first as Karen and then, at her boyfriend’s suggestion, as Florencia. Since then she had the gender changing surgery.
In 2010 she was legally recognized as a female, and changed her legal name, the first to do so in Argentina. She married a dentist, her partner since 1998.
