Anniversary of the Order of the Visitation.

Set in the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the closing of the Year for Priests, the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Order of the Visitation of Holy Mary took place on Friday June 11, in the Burgundy town of Paray-le-Monial, France. The congregation was founded by St. Jane de Chantal and St. Francis de Sales. It's spirituality is rooted in humility and gentleness, characterized by a joyful and fraternal, deeply contemplative, simple, hidden and authentic life.

The commemorative events began with the celebration of a Solemn Mass in the chapel of the apparitions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Here, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, a religious sister of the Visitation, received messages of Christ's Divine Love.
The ceremony was presided over by Monsignor Benoît Rivière, Bishop of Autun.

In conclusion, a procession of the Blessed Sacrament took place in the afternoon. The procession began at the chapel garden, crossed the grounds of the monastery itself and ended at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

During the ceremonies, the current superior of the Visitation, Sister Maria Guadalupe, inspired the faithful to a lively and sincere devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

"If we want to love Him and want to receive His love, we must have complete confidence and a great abandonment to Him."
