'Petrus roga Christus Iesus pro sanctis hominibus Chrestianis ad corpus tuum' - 'Peter, pray to Christ Jesus for the holy Christian men buried near your body'.
This prayer was found by Pope Pius XII's archaeological excavators ,scratched beside the Apostle's shrine by a barely literate pilgrim, at some unknown date,but before the first stone of Constantine's basilica was even laid."
