Dear Father Jason - thank you for your excellent testimony and reflections. I wish you spoke in Polish and pass you message to our priests to encourage them to take minimal effort and get interested in Summorum Pontificum and Extraordinary Form ... and not be so fearful or reluctant. I mean our priests in the vicinity of the capital of Poland - Warsaw, it would be good that they could hear another priest who has hands-on experience with Extraordinary Form. There is a relatyively widespread reluctuance in many Polish dioceses (going from the top) to adopt the Extraordinary Form in parishes even if there are parishoners willing to participate. One priest suggested that this stems from priests problems with Latin in the past while in seminary, especially among those who remember difficult classes in Latin and even more difficult Latin exams. But I can hardly buy such argument, especially when the text of the Mass can really be understood and prounanced and even memorized - my son has already learnt parts in Latin (12 yrs old) by hear and he understand what he says. The problem probably is elsewhere - lack of clear signals from the local bishops that it is not one-off trend and it is not that as soon as Pope B XVI passes away - "old , good Novus Ordo" will not have any alternative and Extraordinary Form will discontinue. The most difficult and reluctant are liturgists (surprising ?), especially those in teaching positions (between say 40-65 yrs old), many of them sent from Poland to Rome for liturgy studies (and then to teach in seminaries). They were trained there in the peak of Novus Ordo popularity (and experimentation). They still teach in seminaries. But such testimonies like yours can calm down their feras and bring perhaps the idea that the old and new rithe could enrich each other. God bless you Peter from Kanie near Warsaw

This is a very, very inspirational video. As Fr. Worthley points out how many priests are resistant to learning the TLM, I say how many laities are also resistant either through laziness and/or apathy. I too have benefited tremendously since switching over fully to the TLM. I too have found it challenging at first. When you put your mind to it and learn the Mass that the saints used to celebrate, it will become second nature. Invest in a good Daily Roman Missal with the Latin and English side by side and before you know it, you wonder why didn't you give the TLM a try earlier?!

One remains utterly convinced that the Extraordinary Form of Mass is intrinsically beautiful, and arrestingly Holy. One remains utterly convinced that the Extraordinary Form of Mass is intrinsically beautiful, and arrestingly Holy. This form of Mass is consistent with the ancient Patriarchal Rites of the East, e.g. Antioch, Alexandria, Jerusalem, etc. I am specifically thinking of the Curtained Ciborium which was the Christian equivalent of the ancientsancta sanctorum of the Jewish temple and the Greek Iconostasis which hides the altar from the people unto which only the priest is admitted.

The loss of the transcendent in the modern Church is a product of the loss of this sancta sanctorum. This is preserved in the Extraodinary Form of the Roman Mass in the silent Canon Missae and the use of the Latin language. AND in the Ordinary Form if it were celebrated per documenta.

On the other hand, the Ordinary Form of Mass, if celebrated ad orientem as an organic development from the Extraordinary Form of Mass, is also arrestingly beautiful. As our Holy Father says in Sacramentum Caritatis the ars celebrandi needs to be observed by priests. The same clerics who were formed after the 70s to be 'social workers' rather than ministers of the Transcendent Godhead. It must be hard for them; indeed, the priest in this video testifies to this.

Only if clergy would move on from the politics and psycho-sociological issues of the 1960s under which the Second Council of the Vatican was held! However, GOD IS AT THE HELM of this ship!! Note that renewal is being stired up not only by the Holy Spirit at the ground level, eg this priest but by Peter himself! May God keep Benedictvs XVI on the Way of Jesus. 😇

✍️ Excellent presentation. Unquestionably a reform of the reform is happening worldwide---which doubtless is why neo-modernist's have worked so hard with the culture of death to persecute Benedict XVI.

How wonderful to see these young priests and many seminarians who wish to offer the traditional Latin Mass. What a blessing! The Holy Father certainly knew what he was doing when he came out the Summorum Pontificum! Whenever we hear the older priests say, "I never learned Latin", or "I don't know how to say the Latin Mass."...All excuses, and they know it! They are the losers, along with the faithful …More

The Holy Father certainly knew what he was doing when he came out the Summorum Pontificum! Whenever we hear the older priests say, "I never learned Latin", or "I don't know how to say the Latin Mass."...All excuses, and they know it! They are the losers, along with the faithful Catholics who lose out from having this beautiful and Holy Mass said, that is being refused by pastors, in Disobedience to the Holy Father.
The modern priests only want to hurry and get the Mass over with,..just a job. What a pity.

Oh Mary, Queen of the clergy, obtain for us Many Holy priests!
