Who is the Lamb?

In the Bible, John the Baptist describes Jesus like this: ”Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)

Jesus is described as the lamb who has overcome all sins of the world through his death. He sacrificed Himself on the cross at Calvary so that we could receive the forgiveness of sins, gain eternal life, and also participate at the wedding of the lamb. At this wedding, Jesus is the groom and those who have accepted him as their savior are his bride.

Jesus is the lamb, the groom, and those who believe in him are his church, the bride. Thus, the wedding we are talking about is between Jesus and his bride, and it is the celebration of the eternal covenant with God.

Putting on Festival Clothes

We are not saved based on our own works, and likewise, we are not wearing our own garments at the wedding of the lamb. Our garments are stained because of sin, and only Jesus Christ can give us clean wedding clothing. He died on the cross so that we could receive forgiveness for our sins, and the blood of Jesus is the only detergent that is powerful enough to wash even the dirtiest of clothes. Everyone is in need of this. You don’t have to do anything except turn to him. You can do it now following these helpful guidelines.
