Zimbabwe anxious after elections.

Zimbabwe anxiously awaits the official results of their elections which will either continue President Robert Mugabe's reign or give control to the opposition. Voter turnout was high and there were no violent incidents, although accusations of fraud have been made.

84-year-old President Mugabe, in power for 28 years, decided to run again despite fractures within his own party and the people's unrest and desire for change. The country suffers from increasing international isolation and a disastrous economy that continues to worsen.

Early results showed Morgan Tsvangiai, the head of the main opposition party, Movement for Democratic Change, as the overall winner.

The country's Council of Churches, a body that represents Catholics and Evangelicals, called on all citizens to work for unity in diversity and to avoid violence.
