Christianity in the Middle East is at a crossroads: the Christians of the Middle East are emigrating. This is an emigration without return, and 95% of it is in the direction of the West. It is, according to some, irreversible. Father Samir Khalil Samir, S.J., an Egyptian Jesuit and Islam expert, who teaches Islamic studies and the History of Arab culture at the Universite Saint-Joseph in Beirut, is the President of the International Association for Christian - Arabic Studies and an expert on interreligious dialogue. Host Mark Riedemann speaks with Father Samir Khalil Samir about situation facing Christians in the Middle East and the implications for the universal Church.
