Nun raped: Earlier this month, a 28-year-old nun was abducted and repeatedly raped by a gang of men in Orissa state, India. She had received a message that her mother was ill and hurriedly took a train home. At the local station, the nun was met by several cousins and neighbors who said, they would take her to her house. Instead, they carried her to an isolated location, held her for several days, and repeatedly assaulted her. She was eventually returned to the train station. The nun filed charges against her assailants on July 13 and two men have been arrested. The Orissa state has a history of recent turmoil, much of it pitting Hindus against Christians.

Tennis star, Agnieszka Radwanska ranked #4 in the world, was dropped by a Catholic youth movement in her native Poland for posing nude in ESPN Magazine. The Catholic group Krucjata Mlodych (Youth Crusade with more than a million followers) that runs a campaign dubbed “I’m not ashamed of Jesus”, dropped Radwanska last week. She has previously appeared in a television commercial sponsored by the group in which she spelled out the word “Jesus” with tennis balls and urged young Poles not to be ashamed of their faith.

ABC has officially announced that one of the vacant spots on the morning talk show, “The View” will be filled by anti-Catholic bigot, anti-vaccine conspiracy theorist and former Playboy model Jenny McCarthy. In 2012 McCarthy wrote a book deriding Catholicism complaining that it – quote - "has pervaded my life since birth and confused the f--k out of me for about the same time. She also whined that – quote - "I had to give up giving s--t up for Lent." McCarthy has derided Jesus Christ as nothing more than a "Justin Bieber" phase in her life. Gloria.tv wonders that since she has forsaken Catholcism, whom does Jenny McCarthy blame for her multiple failed marriages and broken relationships?

14 former parish elementary schools in low-income neighborhoods of the archdiocese of Philadelphia will become so called Catholic "mission schools" operated by an independent network. The 14 schools enroll approximately 4,200 students through 8th grade with sixty-three percent of the students not being Catholic. The schools will continue to receive some services from the archdiocese's Office of Catholic Education and will use its core curriculum. However, the mission schools may choose to supplement that program. While the 14 schools had a 6 percent decline in overall enrollment last fall, they are on track to see a 9 percent increase for next academic year.
