Let's earnestly practise his five proposed strategies.

Meanwhile, I just need to note that there is a maxim: HE WHO CONTROLS THE LANGUAGE CONTROLS THE DEBATE.

A generation ago, homosexuality was anathema to western civilisation. Since then, the general (voting) public have been brainwashed by the mainstream media (news, current affairs, entertainment) to the point where now the general public accept homosexuality almost without demur.

A significant factor in that brainwashing has been the language used by homosexualists and, thus, the media. One term in particular has been pivotal. That is "gay".

Homosexualists adopted the word gay so as to present their perverted lifestyle as one that is joyful and carefree. Thus their opponents are presented as mean-spirited bigots.

Given that, if we use the term "gay" to describe homosexual(ity), we are advancing their cause, we are losing the debate, we are contributing to the public brainwashing.

I hope, Fr Clovis, you will understand what I'm trying to say. Perhaps you could resolve not to use the term "gay".

CARDINAL BURKE RESPONDS!

Cardinal Burke responds to Recent Criticisms

In an Italian-language interview, the patron of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta said, ‘I am not against the Pope; I have never spoken out against the Pope. … My purpose is to serve the truth.’

Cardinal Burke, in the debate that preceded and followed the first synod on the family, some of your statements did sound like criticisms of the Pope, or at least that is how they were interpreted. For example, quite a stir was caused by your recent remark, “I will resist; I’ll resist,” as a response to a possible decision of the Pope to grant Communion to the divorced and remarried.

That comment was misrepresented, and there was no reference to Pope Francis. I believe that because I have always spoken very clearly on the issue of marriage and the family, there are people who want to undermine what I say by depicting me as an enemy of the Pope or even ready for a schism by using that answer I gave in an interview with a French television channel.

“It’s total nonsense; I don’t understand this attitude, ” said Cardinal Burke. “I have never said a single word against the Pope; I strive only to serve the truth, a task that we all have. I have always seen my talks and my activities as a support to the Petrine ministry. The people who know me well can witness to the fact I am not anti-papal. On the contrary, I have always been extremely loyal and wanted to serve the Holy Father, as I am doing now.” (NCR)

Pope Francis is perceived to be at the forefront of a new liberal attitude coming from Rome. But Bishop Schneider says: “Thanks be to God, Pope Francis has not expressed himself in these ways that the mass media expect from him. He has spoken until now, in his official homilies, very beautiful Catholic doctrine. I hope he will continue to teach in a very clear manner the Catholic doctrine.”

What a brave priest Fr. Clovis is. This is just what we need to hear. There is so much confusion about what obedience really means and he explains our right to express our opinion and our duty to correct even the pope when he is wrong.

I apologize for not being good with computers, too. But, I must respond to Eileen Ratigan's comment about Novus Ordo priests "starting to get it." Can we PLEASE open our eyes to the fact that, no matter which form of the Holy Mass you prefer, we share the ONE, HOLY, CATHOLIC, APOSTOLIC FAITH? Perhaps I've been very blessed, but I only attend the NO form & our priests have "gotten it" for many, many years! The truth is not contained ONLY in the EO form, Eileen, & it's very degrading to insinuate that it is. Yes, there are many abuses in the NO Mass; no one denies that. If they'd simply allowed the vernacular translations of the EO back in the 60's, life would have been great. It's beautiful! But, they didn't & the Church has suffered greatly because of it. But, that does not mean that every Catholic who attends the NO is a heretic! Many of us have suffered greatly for defending the faith in parishes, with friends & family, just as some who attend the EO form also have done. We are united in One faith. Can't we be friends like Our Lord wishes us to be? Hopefully, someday we will be a truly united Church once again. This division at the heart of our Faith, the Holy Mass, is scandalous! And a big THANK YOU to Fr. Linus for his excellent presentation on "the Francis Effect!" He's truly a very courageous priest! We desperately need many more like him! God be with you, Fr. Linus!

To Denis Mailloux,

I'm not very good with computers so I really don't know how to post a response to your comment, but I write this anyway. To a point, your caution is prudent. Funny, "prudent" is so misused these days. I can't imagine, considering particularly the "midpoint" document from the synod, that any kind of resulting dust will settle any time soon. And, also, considering the internet and printed blather from the German "Church" (as if they have any proprietary rights), the dust from the first synod will be counted as nothing against the destructive "sandstorm" that may be the fallout from the next meeting if the Germans, Swiss, et al are given the go-ahead to promote their poison. No, your counsel is correct that we shouldn't anticipate the worst, but we should prepare for it if the Teutonic ecclesial machine manages to win the day. Of course, that said, the Church is still indefectible, but as the Holy Father, alas, "Emeritus" Pope Benedict has hinted, such a sandstorm may reduce the Universal Church to a Universal Church Remnant.

I celebrate 10 years of priesthood next week, Deo Gratias - at the age of 64. I don't expect to make it to my silver jubilee. Ah well, whatever the Lord wills. But, if I have to die before the great trial, well, "fiat, fiat." Today ain't the world (or the Church) I was born into. I guarantee I won't go kicking and screaming when it's my time. May you, M. Denis, see a better world and a better Church. God bless.

Please hold on to your bibles. The newer editions which will be written by the Christ's enemies and they most certainly change the meaning and mistranslate things to change dogma and doctrines which cannot be changed.

We have many faithful priests that are finally starting to come forward with the truth. We need to encourage and support them. In many ways they are more on the front lines than we laity. We have many faithful priests that are finally starting to come forward with the truth. We need to encourage and support them. In many ways they are more on the front lines than we laity. The letter of faithful priests to the Vatican to stand firm in the teachings of the Church in the upcoming Synod that is circulating in the U.S, has now reached almost 1,000. We will always need more to 'sign up' for truth. We are, as Fr. said, not fighting flesh and blood, but principalities and powers. We are up against Hell itself. Pray the Rosary daily, receive the sacraments, study the word which is our sword and stand for truth, and yes, ask for the grace of martyrdom. God Himself will stand with us.
