Wishy Washy Is the Problem: Monsignor Rogelio Livieres, the former bishop of Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, who was unjustly sacked by Pope Francis asks on his blog why so many Latin America Catholics leave the Church. His answer: “People look in religion for a spiritual certainty and for a clear sense of their lives. Instead, Catholics encountered during the last decades in their bishops and priests relativism rather than certainties, and doubts and interpretations that are too personal and that dilute the truth revealed by God.”

Benedict XVI Has Disappeared: The attempt to separate the Magisterium of the Church from her pastoral practice in order to get rid of doctrine – as practiced by some bishops during the Synod on the Family - is a heresy and a dangerous schizophrenia according to Cardinal Robert Sarah, the prefect of the Congregation for Liturgy in his interview-book “God or nothing”. The book was announced with a preface by former Pope Benedict XVI but was eventually printed without it.

No Freedom of Thought: At a lecture in Marburg, Germany, the Indian philosopher Vishal Mangalwadi has disputed, that there is freedom of thought in the West. Mangalwadi gave examples. Who states that there is a truth, risks to be marginalized as a "fundamentalist". Criticizing homosex-marriage could put one’s job at ris. Mangalwadi comments: "Islam is not your problem: You have lost the truth, therefore you will lose your freedom."

What Is Important: Portuguese Agencia Ecclesia has published a very rare interview with a Carthusian monk, Dom Antão Lopes, the prior of the charterhouse Scala Coeli in Evora, Portugal. Dom Antão says that Lent corresponds to the daily life of the Carthusians as they live the whole year in the desert and in abstinence. He adds that the Carthusian does not pay much attention to the fact that his life is ascetic because he puts all importance on prayer. Quote: “That is the strongest aspect of your live.” 6 monks live in Evola.
