This Jesuit is wrong. The church canonizes people because they lived an extraordinary and Saintly life. God chooses people to be canonized by allowing miracles to happen through their intersession. The church just doesn't say one day "oh, lets make this pope a saint now because he is a good role model for this century and the next"!? No. You are wrong Fr. Marc!
