Joel Osteen Rebukes Apostles Paul, Peter, and John

Photo ~ Joel Osteen is an American preacher, televangelist, author, and the Pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas. His ministry reaches over seven million broadcast media viewers weekly in over 100
nations around the world. The prosperity preacher from Houston has just moved up from his $2m mansion to a $10m mansion.

According to Joel Osteen – Pastor of Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, these first century apostles are wrong and outdated and he has come out boldly to infer indirectly that Apostles Paul, Peter, and John whom wrote much of the New Testament were wrong and need to be corrected and rebuked.

When asked directly if people whom are openly practicing homosexuals are accepted into the Kingdom, Joel Osteen responded with “Absolutely, anybody is.”

We all need to listen carefully to the words that this “man of God” speaks as he goes on interviews so we too can find the errors in the preaching of the first century apostles.

Joel does acknowledge that some things are “sin” but says, “I don’t address these things from the pulpit. They only come up in interviews.” When asked if openly practicing gay/homosexual people will be accepted into heaven, Joel Osteen responded, “I believe they will.”

He makes no mention of the need for repentance.

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but the language quality of this piece is pretty bad. It reads like my 7th grader wrote it in an attempt to sound more educated than she actually is, and I should hope Gloria.TV would take the five minutes necessary to proofread this before publishing.

The author uses the object pronoun 'whom' twice, and both times it's wrong. Who wrote much of the New Testament? Paul, Peter, and John did. Just as you wouldn't say "Them wrote it." you wouldn't say "whom wrote..." unless you're speaking about the people to whom Paul, Peter, and John wrote. Similarly "whom are openly practicing homosexuals" is incorrect, unless you're talking about the people with whom such practicing homosexuals practice their homosexuality.

Much worse is the author's incorrect use of 'infer' to, presumably, mean 'imply'. We make inferences on others' behaviors and speech, and we may even make implications about such behavior and speech when we speak to others (just as Joel Osteen did). As this distinction in vocabulary is something we're expected to know since taking the SATs in high school, I can't help but infer that this piece was rushed out of the press without even a cursory reread.

I guess he DOESN'T read the bible. I'll help him with a couple of references from GOD. If he DOESN'T listen then we'll know he's NOT a man of GOD. So he must be one of those false people Christ warned us about.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man has sexual relations with another man, they have done a disgusting thing, and both shall be put to death. They are responsible for their own death.
Leviticus 18…More

I guess he DOESN'T read the bible. I'll help him with a couple of references from GOD. If he DOESN'T listen then we'll know he's NOT a man of GOD. So he must be one of those false people Christ warned us about.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man has sexual relations with another man, they have done a disgusting thing, and both shall be put to death. They are responsible for their own death.

Leviticus 18:22 ---> No man is to have sexual relations with another man; God hates that.

Deuteronomy 22:5 --> Women are not to wear men's clothing, and men are not to wear women's clothing; the Lord your God hates people who do such things.

Now you've got GOD'S teachings on the subject. Is there any doubt that GOD does not approve of that live style? GOD'S WORD is TRUTH and the TRUTH NEVER CHANGES. However, some foolish religions think the New Testament replaces the Old Testament. They just don't remember what Christ said on that subject: Matthew 5:17-20 --> 17 "Do not think that I have come to do away with the Law of Moses and the teachings of the prophets. I have NOT come to do away with them, but to make their teachings come true. 18 Remember that as long as heaven and earth last, NOT the least point nor the smallest detail of the LAW will be done away with - NOT UNTIL THE END OF ALL THINGS. 19 So then, whoever disobeys even the least important of the commandments and teaches others to do the same, will be least in the Kingdom of heaven. On the other hand, whoever obeys the Law and teaches others to do the same, will be great in the Kingdom of heaven. 20 I tell you, then, that you will be able to enter the Kingdom of heaven only if you are more faithful than the teachers of the Law and the Pharisees in doing what God requires.

Now you've heard GOD'S WORD on the subject. Can there be ANY DOUBT that GOD HATES this kind of lifestyle or anyone that teaches lies about GOD'S WORD on the subject?

Remember, Christ taught us not to judge other but he also said (Luke 17:1-3), "1 Jesus said to his disciples, "Things that make people fall into sin are bound to happen, but how terrible for the ONE who makes them happen! 2 It would be better for him if a large millstone were tied around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. 3 So watch what you do! "If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.

Now let's see if Mr. Joel Osteen is a man of GOD or a follower of Satin.

were inspired by the Holy Spirit of God and everything included in the Bible.Your claim that they were wrong and need to be corrected and rebuked. You should change your Lakewood Church to Lakewood "Hell" when you deny the Holy Spirit of God. Satan you will burn in hell.

Perfect example of not saying anything too controversial but just enough to make people feel Christian so the donations roll in. What a disservice to people seeking the Truth. Con men are always likeable, charming, and persuasive.
