"The mention of JRR Tolkien in this last Sunday's sermon was really only a shot over the bow regarding a most serious subject. Now I would like to deliver the rest of this message. This surely will be challenging and even perhaps somewhat painful for some...but from all I can determine, it needs to be done. Recently I was given an opportunity to speak on this subject, something I have been researching, praying about and discerning for some years. At one time, I was very much immersed in JRR Tolkien's works as you will hear, but I was freed by a special grace and started to look into the matter more deeply. These two talks are the fruit of that effort. I apologize that this has not been made known sooner. If you do listen to these -- and I urge to do so if you are in any way attracted to Tolkien -- please listen to both parts."
