Gregory,
Thank you for that heartfelt message.

I'm guessing that all of us know at least one or two people in the “real world” with whom we don't agree and who (for various reasons) frustrate us and occasionally provoke us to anger. Those people might be neighbors, co-workers, repair-men, professionals, relatives or even fellow church members. It is a part of life.

I have found one perfectly successful way of dealing with people who annoy me and who, quite likely, I also annoy. The technique is simple. As best as I can, I avoid those kinds of people and those situations which, from previous experience, I know will likely lead to bitterness. These are not necessarily evil people. However, they are people with whom I can not get along. Life has enough trials and tribulations, even under the best circumstances, without my looking for trouble.

With this in mind, I propose a time of peaceful co-existence between us. I will not interfere or respond to any of your posts in the future. Of course, you can respond to my posts or threads if you wish but I will not answer for reasons already stated. Incidentally, for the sake of domestic tranquility and based on previous experience, there are others at this site who, in the future, I will likewise avoid including some threads that are filled with acrimony.

I write all of this with no anger or resentment toward you or anyone else From personal experience in the real world, I believe that there are times when avoiding provocations (by the exercise of self-control) is the only sure fire way to deal with personality conflicts and hard feelings.

For me, the time spent at Gloria TV is enjoyable, it is a rest from usual obligations, and it is also an opportunity for education. Quarrels detract from the experience. I intend to keep this in mind before posting.

Adiós

Thank you, Father!
@Gregory: This "war", that you have against Holy Cannoli, is getting a bit boring. Perhaps you could do, as Holy Cannoli suggested, and simply not read, what he writes, if it gets on your nerves that much? 🤐 Isn't Christianity about love and understanding, as well as about forgiveness? From your previous post it is painfully obvious that you have made a place in your heart to criticize this Holy Priest and it appears that you could not start soon enough in the new year.

Gregory,

Can't you even for one day avoid your fixation with me? I made no criticims of Fr. Nay. When I have offered my personal observations, those observations were offered in the spirit of helpfulness and they were offered in order to give this priest (and others who I've written to) a point of view that usually can only come from an observer of a presentation not by the presenter himself. None of is perfect and all of us ought to welcome criticisms that serve to enlighten and improve our work whatever that may be. If my observations are useful to the presenter, good. If my observations are rejected by the presenter, that is also good. However, I can not simply give praise unless that praise is warranted and I certainly would not give praise for the sole perpose of pleasing any man.

If you would have taken the time to carefully read my previous message here you would have seen:

The presentation was good which included appropriate hand gestures, facial expressions, eye contact and a relaxed demeanor. This too is one of your best presentations.

That was a compliment, Gregory.

This is a new year. Instead of carrying on with your obvious attemtps to belittle me and anything I write (to the extent of even fouling this particular thread with your preocupation with what I do) why don't you instead focus on yourself and what you write. That alone will give you plenty to think about.

If you don't like what I write (which you obviously do not), then don't read what I write. To cheapen this thread as you've done here with your own silly vendetta against me, is childish.

This is not a deep theological problem which requires consulting Augustine or the Summa. This simply is an issue that requires common sense which, evidently, is not so common.

Yes! Those words reminded me of a passage in a book by Dom Eugene Boyland, O.C.S.O.

The rule of life, then, for the Catholic is to seek Christ and to be united to Him by daily prayer, by daily reading and reflection, by the frequent use of the sacraments, especially of the Blessed Eucharist, and by doing the will of God. No higher program is necessary to reach sanctity. Anyone of whom it could be said at the end of his life - “he did the will of God”--is perfect.
