Not in the Vatican: For the first time, the Lenten retreat of the Pontifical Household and the Pope will not take place in the Vatican but in a house of the Fathers of the Society of Saint Paul in Ariccia in the Alban Hills outside of Rome's southeastern suburbs. The retreat will last for six full days. It will be preached by Fr Angelo De Donatis. He is the parish priest of San Marco al Campidoglio on the very central Piazza Venezia in Rome.
Good News for Orthodox Catholics: On Thursday Pope Francis delivered a long speech to the members of the Congregation for Bishops who is in charge of appointing new bishops around the world. In his speech the Pope said that bishops do not need to be managers and that – quote - “the Church does not need apologists or crusaders” either. This is good news for orthodox Catholics. Because a majority of the bishops is soft-spoken, they become apologists and crusaders only when bullying orthodox Catholics.
No Changes: Cardinal Müller, the Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has excluded changes in the doctrine of the indissolubility of Christian marriage. On Tuesday he denounced in Rome an ideology that fights against marriage and family. Müller stressed that the exclusion of the divorced and remarried from Holy Communion is not a matter of opinion but of doctrine. According to him, pastoral care and Catholic doctrine cannot contradict each other.
Violent Resistance: The ultra liberal Cardinal of Munich Reinhard Marx has told journalists that the attempt of the likewise ultraliberal Cardinal Walter Kasper to undermine the indissolubility of Catholic marriage during last week’s meeting of the Cardinals in Rome has encountered – quote – violent resistance. According to Marx many Cardinals cannot understand why the Pope not only allows but even promotes such a debate on an undisputed question.

And let us not forget: This debate comes after the divorced have de facto already been admitted into the Church. Imagine a priest who tells his congregation before distributing communion that divorced and remarried people are not allowed to receive communion. I do not know one Western European bishop who would stand by that priest.

If, then, those who do this as respects the flesh have suffered death, how much more shall this be the case with any one who corrupts by wicked doctrine the faith of God, for which Jesus Christ was crucified! Such an one becoming defiled [in this way], shall go away into everlasting fire, and so shall every one that hearkens unto him". St. Ignatius of Antioch, Epistle To The Ephesians.

Our Lady of Akita: "The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against other bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by other priests".
