This video highlights testimonials given by couples about the beauty of the vocation to marriage and how they were able to stay married for so many years. Nearly 830 couples registered for the Jubilarian Mass to recognize their long marriages. The couples have been married for 25 to 73 years, with 387 couples married for 50 or more years. The total number of years married is 36,722. On Sunday, June 5th, 2011, nearly 600 couples from the parishes across the Archdiocese of Washington attended a Jubilarian Mass and were honored for their vocation to marriage by renewing their vows at this special Mass with the Archbishop of Washington, Cardinal Wuerl. In addition to renewing their vows and receiving a special blessing during Mass, all couples received personalized certificates commemorating their special anniversary following the Mass.
