Mother of the Living.

The inscription on the tomb of this bishop in the Roman basilica of Santa Sabina reads: "That in dying he might live, he lived as one ready to die". Above the carved image of the deceased are the Virgin Mary and Child Jesus, for she is the second Eve, the Mother of all who live. And she is flanked by St Catherine of Siena and possibly St Catherine of Alexandria.
