The Anglican Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, has suggested that ex-Anglicans who join the Church as part of the Pope’s Ordinariate Scheme will not be “proper Catholics”. He made this claim in an interview with BBC. The Catholic journalist Damian Thomson commented on his blog: “Dr Sentamu is displaying what appears to be deplorable ignorance. To put the record straight: any Anglican joining the Ordinariate will be as Catholic as the Pope”.
